I am getting ready to turbo my ka24de but i am undecided on what to use the the feed and return lines. I know where and how to physically run them and in cooperate them with the systems but i dont know what kind of hose i want to use. I am really trying to stay away from anything flashy like the steal braided stuff.
Could i get away with some push loc aeroquip?
Aeroquip Push-Loc Hose - Push-Loc Hoses (http://www.jdaent.com/push-loc-hose-aqp.html)
and just put some hose sleeves on it where it might touch the manifold? i am going for the low key sleeper look, planning on making a heat shield and what not so flashy chrome kills it.
any one have some helpfull input?
p.s. i searched my A$$ and couldnt find much. i am just looking for some others input/ experiences

steel braided is the way to go.
im doubt those hoses could handle the heat.

those hoses are good up to 300*. if you have engine oil that gets to the point that these hoses are failing, you are probably going to have a lot more to worry about

braided steel and push-loc have the same temperature rating, it really just comes down to preference and budget. Coolant lines I use -6an. Oil feed I have is -4an with .035 restrictor on top of the turbo, you might want a steel braided line for that. For the oil drain just about everyone use -10AN.

yea i saw the the temp rating is the same i just done know if they can hold up to the heat coming off the manifold. I am doing a bottom mount set up with a t3 t25 of a Z and have really had a chance to see how i will be routing the lines. i can shell out the cash for braided lines but i am really trying to stay away from flashy. i want to make everything black lol.
has anyone heard or has had turbo lines melting???
and could i just put hose sleeve on the lines for the 6 inches or so that it is near the turbo/manifold?
something like this....

agian this isnt a budget issue or me being lazy. i just dont wont steel/ chrome lines running all over

U can get a turbo line for 50 bucks... What's the problem? Fittings would cost u about 17 bucks plus hose, almost the same cost. IMO stop being a cheap, and buy a pre assemble turbo line . For the drain yes, build your own

like i said i am NOT being cheap money is not an issue. i just dont want braided lines running all over the engine bay. i am making a heat shield to cover up the entire turbo and manifold. the point is to make it so its not noticeable, braided lines defeat that. i would rather have a chance of getting out of a ticket.

I'm in the same situation as you. I didn't want the flash from steel braided lines so I was looking into hydraulic forklift lines. Only problem was finding a local place to do it. So I decided on steel braided lines and just putting black rubber hose over it to conceal the bling.

sounds like a pain!!!
i was looking on summit and they sell Kevlar hose for like 45 bucks a foot haha its rated at 500 degrees, but a lot more than a want to spend
the aeroquip stuff is rated at 300 degrees and the russell proflex is 350.... not much difference at all.
i think if i heat wrap the manifold and sleeve the aeroquip hose where it comes off the turbo everything will be fine.
anyone else want to chime in?

I think you are over thinking it. one member said put a hose over the steel braided line. That would work. Another option get high temp pair and spray the hose with it. 3rd option don't go turbo. ( you say u want to be stealth, but I have this feeling u will have a badass blow off valve. Lol) 4th. Is your manifold top mount or bottom mount? If top mount yes u will see the line. If bottom mount you won't see it!

they also make this stuff
AEROQUIP FIRE SLEEVE from Aircraft Spruce (http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/aqfiresleeve.php)

but whats the point of having a turbo with out the BOV isnt that why everyone turbos a ka... hahahaha BOV is pretty dumb for a street car just yells at cops and thieves to follow you around.
but anyway i think i am just gonna paint the braided lines with high temp paint and see what happens.
i am pretty pumped about my set up though i got a t3 t25 from my buddy that has a 300zx. its gonna be a sweet auto x set up since it shouldnt choke out at higher rpms like a t2 off a SR.

you know the t3s top mount right
Some may be there are a few different turbos that where put on the Z. The one I have is bottom mount no doubt about it.

Hi-temp hydraulic hose FTW. Rated for 800*F
When I had a KA-T I had a hydraulic shop make it for me for $30. I'll see if I can find a picture.
