Ive got a 92 KA24DE with around 140xxx on it with an intake and exhaust. The car has a wicked bog and has a real problem sliding. Yes i understand the car is stock and isnt boosted but it should slide atleast a little. And no its not an open diff ive got a Nismo 2-way LSD with suspension work done as well. I can push the car to like 5500rpm and clutch kick the hell out of it and will barely slide. The car might slide for 10 feet but cant carry it out. Future plans include boosting so id like to figure out why the car runs like ass before i go further.
Thanks

I rock a 100% stock KA and can drift the fuck out of it. Theres a problem with your motor not making proper power. You check your plugs lately??????
Do you smell gas when its running???????

I do have a slight exhaust leak.. but its not significant enough to not even get sideways at 5500rpm

So fixing the exhuast leak is the first place to start?

Ya I guess ,but the reason your car bogs down mid drift is gona be more than an exhaust leak.
For starters....How your plugs look??????

They arent terrible but im going to change them just to see what happens. My buddies SOHC rapes my car for lack of a better term and its 100% stock. Quite saddening really

Ya Id believe it from what your telling me.
It also sound like your motor is being flooded out past a certain rpm ,and thats why you cant maintain your slide.

Just pulled my plugs and did a compression test and vaccum leak. The plugs are brand new iridiums with nothing wrong with them at all. Gap is right and no burning going on. Compression test wasnt so hot. .150 dry and then went up to .160 after adding oil. The vaccum leak was spot on as well 21 and up to 0 on the gas. Im completely lost here

Try cleaning your maf and check your timing, Also check your tps sensor and coolant temp sensor. Both the tps and coolant temp sensor effect the timing and air/ fuel ratio. And also they wont throw a code unless unplugged. If needed i have a good working tps sensor I can ship you

Ive checked both the cam and ignition timing. Its spot on.. which is surprising but i recently have discovered that my fuel pump was humming so it could effect the way its getting fuel
