View Full Version : Stiffer throttle body spring?

Does such a thing exist?

In my case it would be for a KA24DE. The spring is weak/worn, and combined with a slight kink in my throttle cable due to it being rerouted, under vacuum it usually does not shut the throttle body all the way, causing the motor to idle at around 1900 RPM. I thought I had a vacuum problem somewhere, until I found out the sole cause is the throttle body not shutting completely.

I will replace the spring or possibly the entire throttle body. However, I would really like to keep my throttle cable tucked as it, so I am curious if there is such a thing as a stiffer throttle spring. Highly doubt an aftermarket one exits, but I was thinking there may be one that is interchangeable from a different model of car.

Cheers.

you could always make a bracket and add a separate spring ghetto style lol. but since your tucking it anyway i don't think you'd be into it.

Looked at this yesterday. There are actually two separate springs, and only one of mine was hooked up. The other was not attached to the pulley correctly.
Now the pedal feels normal and the throttle body works well again. :)
