recently got a hks bov..came with hotpipe so it's mounted on. Wondering where the vacuum line hooks up to but also what I need to do to swap out the old one. Right now I have the hks bov and the stock one on..lol..so if n e 1 knows what I need to do, please let me know. I heard that I take out the stock one and cover it up with a plate..weld it or something. Does n e 1 have n e suggestions? please let me know, thanks.

i asked a friend and he told me the best thing i can do is take off the old stock bov, and weld a piece of metal or something to cover it up if i want to only have the hks bov. However, as i drive it more and more with the new bov, I like how having the extra bov relieves the extra pressure meaning both bov's are relieving them at the same time. I don't notice both blow off valves unless i let go off the gas real fast around 3500 or higher. Is it bad that I'm running 2 blow off valves? n e 1 know?

for most situation, SRs comes equiped with MAF. By using a bov that vents charge air to the atmosphere && opens up on high vacuum will cause the bad mixture.

HKS SS bov has a feature where it doesn't open when there is only vaccum, it has to see a pressure difference, therefore, it will not interfeir with the mixture, not much.

running two is redundant. 1 HKS alone can support more volume of charge air than then a T3 or under turbocharger can put out. it wouldn't hurt to have two. But the bov will probably sound better with only the HKS bov hooked up.

i thought the SR came w/ a recirc valve... not a blowoff valve..

Stock SR20DET comes with recirculation valve. Recirculates air back to intake.

Solomon: Remove the recirculation valve from the back of the sidemount. Use a "D" size battery, shove it into the hose that the recirc was on on the back of the IC, and tighten the clamp.

Grab the top of one of those 20oz bottle caps and stick it in the hole on the side of the intake piping that the recirc hose went into. Tighten the clamp.

Remove the vaccuum line going to the intake and put some epoxy over the hole. Let it dry overnight.

If you have the carbon canister hooked up, tee the line coming the top left (?; possibly topright, i forget) of the throttle body to the canister/BOV. If not running canister go straight to BOV.

Install BOV on hotpipe. Tighten clamps. Done. Watch car go "ppsht" and stall.

Now that I have helped you, you must help me... PM me about the "VOLK" wheels... ;)
