This is my 2.35L sr stroker build that has been an on going process for a couple years. A quick run down of what the major parts are, I don't want to bore you with all the small b/s mods. The pics can be found on a well know dsm builders facebook page. Precision psi. The car will be tuned on E85 by Ray at Mid-Atlantic Motorsports.
Right now we are only shooting for 700hp. Then later in the year i will sleve the block and go for around 850hp.

i have a build thread already but is about 2 years old, didnt want to resurect a old dead thread. This car is going for the 67mm true street class record so if you want to follow or not is up to you. The car is going to be fast. the end goal is 8.90's

Everyone around here knows that if your build thread is going to be worth a flying fuck it won't get locked. There are many examples you could find with a simple search.
The "no build threads" rule is really only in place to keep jank cars, with no progress out of here.

well figure i would rather spend my time working on the car to get the progress done rather than sit online and post pics and watch gay ass drifting videos. I simply upload my progress to mine and builders facebook cause it is fast and easy. I'm far from lazy, i have already set one record and beat it by a 1/2 second.
Really if you want me to i can just start posting in my thread from 2 years ago. I'm just sharing info with other 240 owners who may want to look at it. If you don't feel like logging into your facebook and clicking one link, I think you just might be the lazy one. It's more than just social networking now, its also business related.

I like Zilvia, but one thing this site lacks is plenty of build threads for people to spend countless hours getting an idea of what does and doesn't work for SR's and a specific Dyno forum. It would be nice if Zilvia had a sub forum dedicated to just dyno charts where users can post topics regarding their dynos...

No it's not sleeved at the moment
Extreme motorsports built the bottom end right before they caught fire in 2008.

they were in crofton, md. One of the guys who worked there opened up his own shop in broklynn park called precision psi. its mainly a dsm shop but mine has become the shop whore in the past 36 hours. car will be tuned by april 9th. first event of the year is on the 10th. so it is crunch time. car is going to fly together. i will have more and better pics up as the week goes on. If someone wants to post up the ones I havent put up, feel free.

Who would machine an SR20 block with 90mm Pistons (that's 4mm over) without sleeving it?

I built the bottom end in 2008 and it was my first built motor. I didn't know about sleeves. Back then I never had the intention of going over 600hp but now that im older and the compition is more fierce, I am rolling with it for now and then going to just put the sleeves in when the funds are there. I will have more pics up after i get home from work tonight.

Almost everyone enjoys building their cars and sharing that experience, as well as checking out others' builds for inspiration. Sadly, far too many users have a tendency to do half-hearted builds and either rarely update or update with trivial progress. In the interest of keeping the Chat forum clear of three hundred 'Install SR, ziptie aero, rattlecan paint' threads, incomplete, or in-progress build threads are not allowed. If you have completed your build, wrangle all those pictures into a post and tell us about it, but make sure the build is finalized. If you insist on having an in-progress build, Premium members have a specialized subforum for that specific purpose.

i have a few reasons why i think this car isnt shit
for one, i doubt practically everyone and everything i see. i'm a hater, and i believe that most people are full of shit. maybe if the OP was an engineer for NASA or something. but with the name "whereda40at" i doubt he works for BOEING
two, i dont see any quality in this thread. I just hear a lot of bullshit, like 291hp/liter
three, i've been around long enough to know that builds, all of them, require nothing but insane amounts of planning and engineering. you know, spreadsheets, big shop space, storage space, skill and dedication.
what do i see here? none of that.
plus, i think its absolutely moronic to attempt to extract this amount of power from a piece of shit nissan motor.
listen guys, you want some power.. hang some balls out and install a real powerhouse motor, not some piece of shit 2 liter, reinforced this, 300zx transmission that.. thats all mickey mouse bullshit. at least broadfield has it right going LS, the proper motor for that type of application. even a 2jz-gte would make me say "okay.. possible."
its probably not impossible to get 700+ hp out of an SR, i just think its stupid. i can just see it now:

i really do think that i have become dumber after reading what you just posted. You can make just over 700 in a sr without sleeveing the block. No I don't work for nasa, i work in a warehouse. But the guy that is working on my car is bad ass with imports and has built a couple of evo's that hold world records. So before you hop on my thread and TRY to start bashing shit, do some home work. Read my old threads, this car has been around for a while and will continue to be around. I just don't understand why everyone with a 240 thinks you should have instant boost and sliding around corners, to each his own. If this thread gets locked please post a video of the finished product on the dyno, cause I want to see the boost curve with that turbo cause I am going to use it as well.

Why does a V8 have to be trailer trash redneck? Pretty sure an AMG 6.3L V8 isn't redneck... nor is a BMW V8? A 700whp SR is hardly fun to drive and isn't "reliable" by any means. Unless you mean that it can make a few runs on the dyno and spend 90% of it's engine life at 10% of it's peak power.. then sure.

I will have dyno videos and track videos up after the 10th. It's going to be tuned on a mustang dyno so the numbers will be low but the tune will be spot on and the 1/4 mile is what matters most to me.

You obviously havent broaden your search about sr's making power. Do some searching as all the other people on this forum like to say and then come back. houself has a sr with big numbers that has a smaller turbo than what im running. If I wanted a V8 i would put one in. Plus you can't run a V8 in a import running in a true street class.

If you don't like tuning on Nissans, GTFO imo. You are on a Nissan forum. Don't walk into a grocery store and complain that all you see is food. Part of the fun part of being a tuner is taking an engine that was not designed to crank out large power... and make it crank out large power! Swapping small blocks into other cars =/= tuning. That only shows off your ability to stuff large stuff into small holes. Whoopdy do. :gives: I do that everynight with my girlfriend.

My car is sort of compariable to the s14 true street drag car from mazworx. I'm in a much lighter car and going to have around the same hp numbers as that car. Only im running a faster spooling turbo also. Like I said, the finial goal is 8.90 in the 67mm class. If need be, I will up grade to a 6765 and call it a day.

how many of you shit talkers have driven anything other than a stock sr with a t28?

A big turbo SR is not unreliable or boring to drive?!?! It is unreliable when you fucking bore it out to 90mm without fucking sleeving it!!! Yes, its boring to drive, no fucking power till you hit 5K is fucking weak sauce. Dont believe me? I fucking owned one. Its all fun and shit, if you dont plan on driving at less than 5k rpm.
Guy is fucking comparing 4G63s vs SR20s, guess he doesnt take into account that 4Gs are iron blocks vs SR20's weak aluminum block that doesnt like to be bored out more than 87mm without sleeving it.

This definitely isn't a build thread.
It has been left open up until this point, with the hopes that we might see some ACTUALLY BUILDING. Instead we just have speculation and conjecture about whether or not it will even work, or for how long.
Build something, prove something, then start a thread. :lockd:
