just had two quick questions regarding profiles:
I checked the stretched tire/ offset thread and found a lot of possible set ups for me to run.. but there's this ongoing debate i keep having:
1) a cant seem to find some pictures of a car with the same height setting and two different pictures with a 215/45/17 and a 215/40/17.. on a 9 inch.. my question is there a big difference in fender to tire gap when changing between those two tires?
2) if i were to run a 215/45/17 on a 9 inch up front and a 235/40/17 on a 10 inch in the back.. would the aspect ratio of the two different sizes be evident? Is it better to run the same aspect ratio around the whole a car and to just play with the width?
P.S rims are 17x9 + 17 and 17x10 + 17.. Car is an s13 with oem aero bumper, skirts and rear valance. fenders are rolled both in front and slightly in the back.
if anyone has some suggestions.. they are more than welcome.. im looking to be pretty darn low.. but not so low that i would have to swap oil pans 1 once a month!!
thanks

Well i would suggest for you to post this in that thread, since that thread was made for that purpose.
buy tires that are the right size instead of being cheap about it. 215/40 instead of a 215/45 up front

p.s. 215 45 is not straight.
I run a 215 35 on 18x9 and i'm putting same size on my 10's.

its not a question of being cheap or not BUDDY.. its a question of balancing look/stance with this http://media.canada.com/idl/mtgz/20080221/161578-50634.jpg on a daily basis

thanks for the picture much appreciated.. but can anyone be of any help to answer the following: a 40 profile tire with the same width as a 45 profile tire will make me have to lower the car more to fill the gap between the tire and the fender

your answer is simple math.
215mm divided by 45% (or 40%) will give you your sidewall heigth. stretching a tire only changes contact patch.
being spoonfed is uneccesary. doing a little research will make a you a smarter individual. Please don't categorize yourself with the people of Nico and hoping that answers will just be given to you.

Isn't this what www.rimtuck.com (http://www.rimtuck.com) is for?
215/45 never looks good and a 225/40 is near non existent for 17's. 215/40 or a 235/40. nothing else.

Unfortunately, it won't matter if he posts more pictures, because different tire brands stretch differently and have different width, even with the same size.

215 40 17 if you have stock wheel wells.
the 45s will fill up the gap more but it will rub especially if you drift even at a reasonable height.

if i would run 45s at this height itll rub on the wheel well

This is mine on 215/40/17 up front and 215/45/17 on 17x9 all around.
215/45 in the rear fills up the wheel well gaps that a 215/40 in the rear has.
here's mine with 215/40 all around previously
