first off, hi everbody, new to zilvia and new owner of a 91 240 5 speed(auto-manual swap im pretty sure), ridden in plenty, never owned or fixed. bought a beat up 240 hoping to make it a cheap daily till i have real money haha, had minor problems when i bought it, dont start dont stop runs good lol, pop started it and drove it 70 miles home downshifting and hittin the e at red lights(not many).
put a flywheel starter and clutch in it, starts fine. clamped off the driver rear caliper due to it leaking from being what looked like smashed with a hammer and put back on lol, drove it with a decent brake pedal for about a week, put a driver rear brake caliper on.
now i have basically no pedal, about 3 inches of pressure towards the bottom of the stroke, pump up with engine off 3rd pump it gets firm but can still put it almost to the floor, start engine straight to the floor. bled the brakes numerous times, vacuum bleeder, brake flush machine, old fashioned way with 1 guy pumping 1 guy bleeding, barely an improvement if any at all, asked around the shop, i work at a toyota dealer with 25 other techs to bother about this, 90% said put a new master in it, 10% said theres still air.
put a master in it, bench bled it, re-bled the whole brake system again.... no pedal still, and this is where im at, about 3 inches of pressure from the end of the stroke, enough to stop the car, unless its an emergency then im screwed.
all i have for ideas is needing a new brake booster, if anyone has an idea, a fix or has had this problem let me in on some info please and thank you, i got about an hour a day where i work with anything i could possibly need to fix this car except ideas lol
