I went to put stock mounts on an s13 I bought today since I hate solid motor mounts. I got the drivers side in but cannot get the passenger side. I put the solid mount back in on the passenger side and one side of the car feels smooth while the passenger side shakes. Is there a way I can do something to the solid mounts so it feels somewhat like the stock mount. Is the something I can put between the crossmember and the mount or the mount and the engine bracket to keep itfrom shaking so hard?

no you can't do any thing to the solid mount to make it feel like stock.
i had the same problem removing the driver side engine mount. where exactly are you lifting the engine from?
I jacked mine up from the oil pan (no it didnt dent it at all as long as you don't try to keep jacking it up pass the binding point)
did you try what was the jacking/lifting points in this thread.

I tired every possible jack point you can imagine I can get the passenger side solid out but not the stock one in. I already know how to on an s14 I did it to my s14 I had. With the s13 though its just not going as easy

???really, i thought the driver side was much more difficult than passenger, due to the exhaust manifold being the way, and if you have all emission in your car.
use a piece of wood and jack it up from the oil pan so you dont risk damaging it. and raise it up as high as you can, being watchful of the lines behind the motor though, so it doesnt kink and break.

what do you mean by "it wont go"??? maybe your oem mounts have bent tread? Or you could be putting it upside down? Ive changed quite a few motor mounts and never really had a problem since day 1.

Yea I've changed a few myself. The studs are too long to go into the two needed holes in the crossmember and bracket on the engine. Can't squeeze it into the space needed for it to go into the holes. I juacked it up from oil pan transmission all kinds of brackets anything you can think of. The motor goes up all the way then starts to lift the car. Drivers side slid in like that but passenger side simply won't go

ok. Well this really puzzles me. But your best bet would just lower the whole cross member while the engine is at its highest point. Its about 4 bolt of 17 or 19 mm, 2 on each side. Just to loosen the member to drop a few then slide your mounts in, then raise the member back up.
