well i came across this little civic at the expo tonight while getting gas(green, gs-r rims, body kit), he followed me out, when we pulled up to the light, i just rolled my window down and said "hey you wanna run" he said "how much" at that exact second i thought either 2 things...
1. this guy has no idea about the s14 or
2. he had something i didnt want to know about
lets go with number 2 for shits and giggles
(no bet wagered)
so light green, we roll for bout 10 sec then punch it we cross 2 lights that are green, at this point im saying to myself "why the fuck is this guy next to me still" didnt hear a blow off, i think at the exact moment at top end third we both looked at eachother and then the street, (we kinda did that fast and the furious look, right before the train) and we didnt realize the dip, similtaniously we bottomed out and sparked everywhere, after that i pulled 4th, he slowed down.
i pulled behind a building, first words out of my mouth were "gs-r swap huh" he said yeah and a couple goodies. btw he broke his greddy evo exaust loose when he bottomed out . he wanted to run again bc he said his car wasnt warm, i said sure, well he took me the second and third time by about 1-2 car lengths, but i was sputtering for gas too, respectable run though, then again there is no reason i should have beat him, beings he had the so called "jspec gs-r" (quoted)
sorry so long

i have driven some civic hatchbackswith b-16 swaps and what not and #### they are fast and will smoke the 240s most of the time. they can be pretty #### quick when they do good stuff to them. good race though

well said nokuntrol. those CRX hatchbacks with B16 swaps are not to be messed with either.

True...on one hand you have a car that has potential to be sickly fast for very cheap. BUT look at the style factor. I see my car as an extension of myself. (I drive a 95 s14) I mean, 240's are gorgeous cars....There is no way I could drive a CRX...I would hang my head in shame (even if it was a 9 second car) just to be seen rollin in one of those. Not to mention its FF.
One day, just to prove my point, i'd like to survey many girls and ask if they would get into a fast crx or a sexy s14

i think any honda with a b-16 swap ain't that impressive...it would still be pretty close...however any honda with a ls vtec conversion we should look out for...

That must have sucked when you hit that dip.
Yeah, that GSR motor will make a Civic fast.
FYI for those who do not know:
J Spec GSR Motor = 180HP/128LBS
US GSR Motor = 170HP/128lbs

Yah, there is a guy with the fugliest honda ever, a base model pinkish crap honda. Hideous, then he pops the hood and you behold a b18c conversion, complete with cai, cams, fuel rail and regulator, ignition, race radiator, and much much more.... spanks everyone, #### he takes wrx's for fun... and then there is the dreaded 1988 gold with a 2000 vr6 modded to the nuts... ah. Sleepers. I love them all.

it kinda pissed me off though, because when i asked what he was sellin the car for, because it had a for sale sticker he said " 8,500 for the whole car, 5,500 for the engine", i was was like wtf, i said, "i can prolly get a whole sr installed with fmic for 6 gs"
heres where his knowledge fails.,......he did a thumbs down, my jaw dropped. i said "are you kidding me, that gotta be one of the best engines i could think of"....he said "Naaa i got knowledge, thay are shit" the mother fucker SAID THAT. thats when i knew he was just a rice boy with a swap. he also said he ran top 13s, not happening bc i was not even a full length behind him top end third..plus i was outa gas..
ne ways,,,,that whole sr quote really mad me mad

I think the fastest honda I've seen was an integra gs with an LS vtec engine. Stupid sleepers.

Hate to ask this but what excactly is a ls vtec swap? I think it has something to do with a vtc head or something. Can some one explain?

It's an 'Teg LS block with a VTEC head.

the GS-R is a B18...all 'Tegs are.
Only Civics have the B16...and D16.

bout 175 maybe?
on a side note, i don't care what anyone says about honda, in general i like them, but i especially would like to have a '01 prelude type sh, pretty sure they put out 195 hp, maybe 205, it was voted best handling car under 30k by car and driver in like 99 er somethin, we had one at work this summer and i took it out for a spin, pretty #### fast

A friend of mine (my roomate) has a decked out Prelude (99), and he's saving up for a turbo for it. Lude's handle very nice, and are smooth fast cars. Good styling too. The 5th gen prelude (97-01) come with about 195 hp at the crank. (about 155 ft-lbs of torque). With all his mods now, he dynoed 178.3 hp (at the wheels) and 141 ft-lbs of torque. Not to mention it has alot of custom body work, and a nice custom paint job. (Here's some pics, and a mod list if ur interested: <a href="http://www.hondaprelude.com/setups/setupsdsply.asp?id=10306" target='_blank'>http://www.hondaprelude.com/setups/setupsdsply.asp?id=10306</a>
His other car is a 94 Ls integra (daily driver). And, you guessed it, ls vtec head swap. Just the swap itself will get about 190hp at the crank. He has intake, header, exhaust, pulleys, intake manifold, VAFC, and an aftermarket ecu. He's probably getting about 240hp at the crank.* You can get a used gs-r head and put it on a ls for about $1500, but you will need all new headers, intake manifold, etc. So realitically, you might as well by aftermarket parts, so it really ends up coming to about $2500+.
Also, bear in mind that all the stock hoses, gaskets, etc will need to be replaced to handle the extra pressure. (Trust me, he learned the hard way <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>)
<a href="http://www22.brinkster.com/coil222/tegspec.html" target='_blank'>http://www22.brinkster.com/coil222/tegspec.html</a>
*This may sound high, but one of the ls motor's weak points is its air flow system, so I H E will get very nice hp gains. He has not dynoed it.

B16A = del sol/Si engine
B18A/B = LS engine
B18C1 = GS-R engine
B18C5 = ITR engine
B20B/Z = CR-V engine
....the one to watch out for is the B20 with a VTEC head... ~220+whp and ~160 wtq ;-)

The LS Vtec swap is also refered to as the "Frankenstein swap" if I recall correctly.
