My construction company is in the process of building something that looks like a chapel, but will be used commercially. Anyways, part of the plan was for musicians to come and have small concerts (max capacity for the building is 300 people). The main room is about 20x50.

Since the wiring and stage area are still being planned, as a band or musician, what would you like to be prewired into the stage? How often do bands bring all their own gear? Would you still want microphone jacks in the stage, etc?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

POWER OUTLETS!

hate that there isn't enough at the church I play at.
I've only played at 3 different churches so thats the only problem I ever run into.

yes lots and lots of outlets that can handle lots and lots of amps!

thats pretty much it unless they are putting a P/A system in

Most of the tome when we play we like when they have a PA system there and sockets are nice as well. I hate dealing with all kinds of wiring.

Being wired into the venues PA and sound system is usually the preferred medium of playing I would assume.

It sounds a lot better than a couple half stacks providing all of the noise.

Usually the venue will supply the PA though, whenever my band had gigs and the place was mic'd I'd bring my little amp and have it mic'd.

Don't think the builders will supply the sound systems.
