LoLz, im not hating on fixed/single speeds, i have one!.... i just do want to see any cheap, mismatching, neon bikes in here.

actual weight, i forgot, havent scaled it in a year or so. im guessing close to 16 pounds + 250 grams.

om1krom, you make it seem like i have nothing else to waste money on lol. but seriously, most road bike over $3k make the biggest difference.

i know some of you guy onroad......

i just have a shitty road bike, but my dad is big into this stuff.

hes got 2 litespeeds, one for off road and one on road

theyre awesome though, make such a huge difference when riding.

part costs add up so fast on these things, its unbelievable.

I have a 2003 cannondale r800. mostly 105. Doing my 2nd olympic dist tri sunday. Riding a trainer is so kush. No traffic lights, no wind, no bird shit, no flats, no honking from people mirin the spandex shorts, no cagers. whoo

Red Square, you're using the incorrect "your" in your sig.

Red Square
03-24-2011, 01:17 PM
105 group are nice and not too expensive. I think they are probibly the best for the money. Good luck on your tri, its been cold lately.

Fuuuuu... didn't even notice that in my sig.

its nice to see some people actually use bike racks for a bike they actually ride and care about...

becuase for a while there it was becomming a trend to rock a bike rack..

although holy shit 7k bike.. i would love to just sit on one lol

Lol, wrecked that car anyways, its no more =[ front wheel is just missing the hubcap.

AVG speed on the bike for 1st tri 40k (24.8 miles) comes out to 20.1mph. This was uphill/downhill.

for the 2nd tri 18.1mph. This was with my rear brake dragging for the first lap,(had to hop off to fix it 2x), also took a pit stop to pee. This was on a VERY flat course, with very little wind, and again, barely any training.

Question... I know nothing about bike riding, but I was wondering if it would be smart to train on a heavy bike, then race on your super expensive lite bike? I was just curious.

theicecreamdan
04-04-2011, 10:28 AM
I know very little about bike riding, but I'd think its a better idea to train how you're going to race. If you want to add weight then I'd find ways to add it onto the bike and myself.

need to work on the running. i can swim all day, but can barelly run a mile without my old kneecaps giving out.

2010 and 2011, you buy new bikes every year? nice bike. i just realized F75 and the F5 seem almost identical, beside the carbon frame, one pound lighter, and $600 more.

Its got Shimano 105 components. Everything except the brakes. I wanted at least a min of 105s. I got it for about $1000 when it goes for $1200 at most LBS. REALLY wanted the F75 though. This one has a more comfortable riding position.

They have a full length and also a "sprint" which is half. I plan to do the half since it will be my first tri.

heavenboundkevin
05-18-2011, 06:53 PM
^ dude honestly i dont think sprint tri's are worth it, they are over in like 1 hr. You should think about doing the olympic. Good luck whichever you choose, youre going to have a blast.

do you tri guys pee on your seats?

some people do, i even read a story of a chick who shit herself,

but i took a short break to piss at a porta potty on the bike, the 90 second break actually gave my legs a pretty good rest and the energy i was able to expend probably made up for the 90 seconds lost...

I just got these from my friend(FSA SL-K CF seat post and a fi'zi:k seat), after the incident that happened.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b100/meteoriteflo/2011-08-29_12-10-37_778.jpg
We were driving to his house in the E92 and my bike was on his roof rack.
He completely forgets about my bike being on top, and what does he do?
Drives into the garage, my CF seat post snapped, and my san marco seat flew off. :(
The impact was so hard, that the roof rack made a little dent on top of his roof at the racks mounting point.
Everything is cool now though he got it fixed and I have my parts.
Finally I can ride again; so stoked!

I just rode a road bike for the first time last week! I don't know what it was though, said SR on it.

I went to Idaho with a friend to watch him do an Olympic triathlon and he brought an extra bike so I said fuck it and did it. Apparently I suck at swimming but the bike ride was fun

still had the original tires and bar tape which looked like mummy wrappings.

got new tires, tubes and bar tape. looks pretty good now I just havent used it in a while. Considering getting back on it and doing my daily 3-5mile rides with the occasional ride 14-mile Ride to Long Beach down the LA Riverbed bike trail.

Its a 54. I am 5'11.5" , I have long legs and a short torso. If i was on a 56 frame I would have to run a really short stem. During my last BG fit they wanted to lower my stem another 10mm. I wish I could slam my stem.

Very impressive. Looks like you will be a cat2 in no time.
