Well here's a go. I've been running around w/ my CEL light on for like a month and a half now. I checked the code on the ecu and it came up knock sensor and intake temp sensor. I fixed the temp. sensor, was just a bad wire. As for the knock sensor, I never replaced it cause I haven't had the 130 something bones to replace it. Well one day out of nowhere the light goes off and seems to be throwing no code. I'm wondering if maybe the ecu just shuts off the light after so long, and as far as my mechanical knowledge goes, cars still don't fix themselves. Anybody have any type of explanation for this?? And by all means I'm not upset about it, just want to make sure I'm not putting off maintenance that I can fix.

oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I know the bulb works. It shines nice and bright when the dummy light illuminate at startup.

Why don't you check your codes again.

i believe the light will reset itself after 50 cycles of the starter

Knightrider is right, the CEL will go away after 50 start ups. It will eventually come back.

It'll only go out after 50 starts if the original problem is taken care of. If that problem continues to trip a code it will stay on.

well some type of info here is wrong or my car is special. 50 cycles?? If "cycle" means start, warm up and shut off. Then my car definatly went more than that w/ out the CEL going out and as origianally posted, I've yet to find a car that fixes itself.
Thanks for the help. Anybody else chime in??
