Yep it's another S15 headlight thread! No, I don't have any intrest of doing it myself but was curious about something.

One thing I noticed is they seemed to be all black housing.

But on the Masa website they have one where the housing is not black housing.

Is the black housing only on the Spec R model ones? (top the line) Kinda like how In Japan only the Type R Edition of the Integra had black housing and all the lower models had the standard chrome?

:werd: i noticed that before too. I seen some S15 headlights w/noe silvia "emblem" on it too. i also seen the non black housing headlights before too. is it for "base" model silvias?

The black housing integra headlights are for ITR model i tihnkand non is for GSR or SiR-G model i tihnk.

Yeah it might be different trims. I think that's how it is with mid to late 90's Mitsu Eclipses.

It might also be possible that they painted the housing.

i believe the silver ones are the Xenon headlamps, available on the Autech "Style-A" model, from 2001.5-2002.1.

that's a really interesting point. i have never seen silver/chrome housing on s15 headlights. i've see xenon s15 headlights and regular ones with black housing, so i guess that doesn't differentiate them.

no, but the Autech "Style-A" does. theyre Autech S15 lights.

actually, the first time i seen the clear/chrome housing was in one of the hyperrevs for s15. a company had an ad for them, so maybe they're aftermarket s15 headlights?

the S15 in japan comes in a couple of different trims. The clear ones are NOT aftermarket but stock for a certain model. Yeah so basically if you get a certain trim of S15 you get those headlights. I know this because I talked to the Nissan salesperson while I was in Japan.

Proper sized sig attached
