On the way to 7-11 I saw a Scion in the parking lot so I stop and chat to the guy and he tells me that the Scion is only available in Cali. Does anybody know why its only available in Cali

What part of Iowa do you live. I am originally from Tipton in Cedar County.

Scions ARE in fact currently only available in CA. They "should" be available to the rest of the US in Feb '04. But that's only the speculation. If you see some in states other thatn CA it's because it's an easy mark up sale for those Toyota dealers. I know a Scion sales mgr and he sells XB's like hot cakes to out of state dealers right now. Like 7 or 8 in one pop fully loaded. They're a bargain IMO.

It's only available in Cali, because they wanted to start it off as a pilot program and see how the public reacts to it. Since the public likes it and its going well beyond sales plan they will make more models and are expanding to the east coast.

I wish they would add the Japanese/European Echo to that line up.

I like the boxy one but 108hp doesn't cut the mustard. I would consider it if they up the power output ( AWD would be nice too)

i love the boxy scion. A black one with gunmetal polished tip rims...hmmmmm. The interior is very nice also. Its compact, yet practical. They are not too expensive also rite? Around 15k? I'd rather get that than a civic.
