Im in the process of upgrading a few things on my rb25, including turbo, bov, and possibly wastegate....on my previous turbo i made 350whp and 300wtq on 15psi..was a POS cx racing turbo lol....now im looking to make about 400-450whp on similar boost levels...i was recommended to get a precision 60-1 with a .63a/r exhaust housing....now, im no turbo expert so i need a little help from people with more knowledge as im still learning...does this sound like a smart choice?? im kinda worried about boost lag and what not as this car will be mainly a street car...car has an equal length top mount manifold, greddy intake, front mount intercooler ect. ect.

previous turbo specs are t3 flange, 5bolt down pipe, .50 compressor, .63 hot side...any help would be appreciated...

what kinda power were you looking to make and how much boost??

congrats on the kid...they do more for a person than the money you spend on them...

oh and i prob. should have mentioned this before....my price range is in more of the 600-800$ range lol...so i cant go ball bearing :/
this precision 60-1 is around 700$....i may be willing to hold out longer and save more..but rite now im not willing to dish out 1300$

if your going for some high power id do a 35r but if you sill want some quicker spool and still have some power id get a 3076r if you want a lot of lowend but dont get my wrong 35r is sick on a rb25

HX35 Holset - it's similar in size to a GT35R but I don't believe it BB.
But you should be able to put down 500 with it.
There are different size turbine housings too.

If I were you and about to drop some major coin, i would start researching about turbos.
Also HOW TO READ COMPRESSOR MAPS.
This will help you choose the correct turbo for your setup/engine.

never got to install the tubo on my rb =(.
my daughter came first.

sold the rb and sold the gt35r for dirt cheap on this forum
gt35r brand new. sold it for 900!!!! you could possibly find one on here for cheap

static is right though. the 3076R is good for quick spool but the 35r for power =P

i was trying to hit 500hp so thats why i chose the 35r. i know it woulda got me there

THANKS guys!!! im going to look into these turbos you've mentioned and for sure learn to read compressor maps...already started with the basics :]
no1 has yet to comment on the precision 60-1...any1 ever run this turbo?? think it will be good for my power and boost goals? this turbo was recommended by the performance shop that tuned the car...they have been good to me so far but i wanna challenge them and come back with my own turbo idea an see what they say lol
he says i can make 550hp no prob with the 60-1...

shit dude...gotta do what you gotta do...i think i need to decide what it is i actually want...fast spool or more power :/ tough decision...all i know is the 350 to the wheels wasnt cutting it anymore hahaha i mean im going for usable power here...500hp may not be too street friendly lmao
i think 400-450 with decent spool is what im mainly going for...with maybe the capability for a high psi setting making 500 plus =D

if you want 4-450 id say 3076r you can make around 550 with it and still have bottom end and early spool time. here is a vid of a rb25 with that turbo making 460whp at 19.8 psi. plus that turbo has its own special sound lol

if u want 600 hp go 35r or just be boss and go gt42r lol

well guys....i ended up placing an order on the precision 60-1 =] from what i hear it will give me my lower end spool with the capabilities of higher horse power numbers in the 500's...at this point any turbo i chose i would love cause i miss driving my car and im getting a QUALITY turbo with warranty, instead of a cheap ass 200$ chinese POS turbo that i had on the car before =D
will post numbers and all that good stuff when turbo is in and setup....thanks for the input everyone!!!

All depends on what the car is being used for.

I prefer a gt30 for a stock street car and twin scroll 35 for a track/beast 240

Just curious since I'm doing the switch to an RB25 setup but what manifold are you guys running with a GT35R turbo? I got a GT3582R that I'm planning on using but dont have a manifold that would clear a LHD car right now. I'm trying to see what are my options other than using my left nut as a deposit for a Full race one.

haha yea. Thanks, just got it dyno tuned and it put down 240whp on a dynapack at .7 bar with the stock turbo. That should keep me satisfied until i'm ready to go gt3076...

sweet man...thats a decent number to the wheels, by no means a slow car...enjoy it, save up some cash, then throw that turbo and some other goodies on the car =] you'll be more than happy lol gotta love rb's and the full range of power you can get out of them

Anyone not running a blowoff valve with their setup. Im on the stock twins on my rb26 without a blowoff valve. Im going to drift with a 3076r this coming season and im just wondering if its even needed.

Holset hx35 there dirt cheap and make great power. Or if you have brains and can make the variable geometry work on a he351ve and make full boost by 2k rpms. Also for dirt cheap around $200 also builtproof.

Go big or go home. gt35/40 .86 or moar! .96, 1.00. There are many options for your price range. Holset, Borg Warner, Obviously the bigger you go the window for powerband slowly drifts away, but that window is huge for the RB!! I had a gt3071r rb25 on stock manifold with 38mm tial wastegate [I suggest stay internally gated for simplistic reasons and most importantly because I ran it on the stock manifold, which was a task in itself.. I made 357wheel @ about 1bar, it was a rough tune but drove great. If you want to stay stock manifold, its a pita but I'd go with that gt3076 "if" I "had" to. Find a badass fabricator or become one and make your self the best manifold you can dream up. Either way good luck and have fun with that shit. Gangster ass motorh:squintd:

please elaborate. this is interesting. still scratching my head trying to figure out if this is worth looking into or if your just blowing smoke haha. always considered a holset.. hmmmmm

google some youtube videos of how it works I'm not good at explaing stuff lol its called a he351ve. And some dsm guys have been putting a wastgate on the control for it dont know how good that works though.
