Searched for a good while, got loads of results but nothing really helpful.

So the other day I went to start my car and nothing would happen. No click, just nothing. I figured my starter shit the bed because a few weeks prior, I had to give the starter a few taps with a hammer to get it to work. I pulled the starter, brought it to a shop to get it rebuilt and they called back saying the starter was fine but the solenoid was bad. So the solenoid was replaced with a new oem one.

Anyways, I put the rebuilt starter in, turn the key, and still nothing. Battery is good. Connections are good. Regrounded the block and checked other grounds, all good. When I run 12V to the signal wire, the starter clicks repeatedly. This is why I regrounded the block and checked other grounds, and still after it does this.

So this is where I'm at:

starter is good
battery is strong
connections and grounds are good
ignition switch is good
it is not seized

what the ---- is the problem? This is incredibly frustrating.

I'd check the grounds again. This exact same thing happened during my buddies 2JZ swap, where we were getting no power to the starter. We moved one of the grounds from the block to the chassis, and it started right up.
