I'm hearing this high pitch squealing/whistling sound when I turn the car on,

I only noticed it when I gutted out the back and put down the rear seats (keeping my eye on the trunk leak), I can hear it when I'm driving that its coming from the rear and under the trunk, I can also hear it from outside too (not sitting in the car).

My friend said its the fuel pump, but I just got it replaced, and its still making that sound.
I'm just wondering, is it normal for it to always make that sound?

I hope someone can help!

Its when its driving and when it sits there, basically when its on,

I know the sound is still there when I'm driving, because I can hear it when the back seats are down.

Yeah walbros are definately loud. I have one is my rx7.

If it was only when driving though I was going to say the differential.

i was going to say diff. too. but since you said you can hear it when its idling then maybe your fule pump. i have a walbro and to be honest havent heard it making this sound to be that loud as expressed. open your trunk and put your ear to the pump. maybe you can pin point where the sound is coming from.

good luck. let us know whats up.

well walbro are audible from the out side but one thing that will make them scream is a dirty pick up filter

+1 on dirty pick-up.
