A little background on the situation. I had ordered Crower 264 cams for my s13 at the beginning of summer last year. I have the invoice of the order somewhere but cannot seem to find it at the moment. I ordered them and waited 2 months for them to be manufactured and shipped. During this waiting time I decided to buy a FP Big28 turbo, 550cc injectors, the cams, and a re-tune of my ecu. I received the cams, and other items, at the end of summer but did not have time to install anything.

Around December I finally get around to putting everything in. I fired the car up and it felt amazing. Nice sounding idle and smooth powerband. I let the car run for 10-15 in the garage, and reved it a few times; I was pumped. I shut her down and went inside. A few hours later I go out to take her for a spin when the car does not start. I try a few more times and still nothing. I am like whatever I will figure it out later on; being it was winter I just drove my jeep anyways.

Fast forward to today, I get to look at it and I am stumped. I pull the valve cover to find this....

Intake cam

WTF?
Little info
- I always follow a fsm RELIGIOUSLY
- I have installed cams 4 times and never had a hitch
- mechanical timing was PERFECT, I checked it 3 separate times
before starting the car the first time ( I hand spun the crank ten bajillion times)

I pulled the motor tonight and am pulling the head off tomorrow to see the damage (will update with pictures), and plan on contacting Crower on monday.

Ductile torsion failure. Something over torqued that shaft

Crower is not the same as Brian Crower.

Father/Son and two different companies.
