Today, I decided to lift the flap and check out the spare tire well. The donut was FLAT..So I pumped it up. I noticed some rusting on the factory steel wheel chocks so I painted them, then I put some lube on the jack screw and repainted the hub puller and the lug wrench. I also put new batteries in the flashlight that stays back there and cut some nice pieces of foam so the wheel chocks and the tools in the bag would not rattle. My Spare is a virgin and never been mounted so if you are in doubt, today is a good day to clean it all out and clean it all up. I also bought from Harbor freght a 24 inch breaker bar and from Sears, a nice socket...just in case I had some frozen lugs. I took all the lug nuts off all the wheels and relubed them as well and cut a nice board for the jack to lay on if on the side of the road. All this took less than 2 hours and is "well" worth it.
