So here's my story, Im an electrician underground in a coal mines, Wednesday morning at 3am I was hit by 7200 volt (the same as a powerline). Our power output is a total of 12470 volts. There had been 3 others and myself touch the lead that got me beforehand. It had been cut in two and stripped away because of installation of a KVA box. My father had handed the cable to me and within that time I was setting it down a blade from the splitter a mile away has a clip brake and set up power in the lead. The time of the electrocution was probably the most amazing feeling I've ever experienced. It had knocked the power all the way out side which was two or more miles. The first thing I said to my dad, I'm ok, call an ambulance, and get me a fucking ciggerate ready when we get out there. Im on my way home from Cincinnati right now, when I get home I'll give you more info.
Here's some pictures hand was entrance and leg was one exit.

Reminds me of when my cousin was in the same situation.
He was knocked off of a ladder however. He also had 3rd degree burns on both arms (hands to elbows) and his neck.
4 years later and his skin looks perfect.
Glad to hear another made it out alive!

Just over half an amp can stop the heart.... 800amps and you would surely be dead.
800amps at 12volts wont kill you, dont believe me , go touch both terminals on your car battery and wait for the spectacular nothing to happen, you need enough voltage to permeate your skin and blood to travel across your heart, and enough amps to cook it lol, sounds like this guy had plenty of both miracle he can tell us about it.

I got back to the doctor tomorrow.
Since I last posted, I have regained feeling in my leg (it hurt like a bitch until Sunday), the swelling is almost unnoticeable, and does it help to say ive took off into a dead sprint twice because i was being chased by hornets the first time and bats the next... Here is a timeline of my leg healing.

This is the natural healing process so i am told. My leg and foot i clean and re bandage 3-4 times a day, my hand twice. my hand is healed all but the palm.
anyone else realize this is almost like a build thread, lol.
I just wonder how much hate i would get for putting a shocker sticker on my car....

just seeing this and thats crazy man, glad to see your okay.
i actually got hit like 2 weeks ago messing with a 600V DC Inverter wiring in some low volt remote communication stuff in the inverter , touched the main lug and back of the inverter....out of all the times ive been hit that may have been the worst luckily ive never actually had a burn mark to show , kinda had a minor one changing a 277v ballast, whomever installed the last one before i got there had the white from ballast to yellow incomming and black from ballast to grey (grounded conductor) well been doing em so much i took off the black from the ballast from grey and capped grey (not knowing) then just undid the white and yellow and didnt cap yellow (which is the 277v current carrying conductor ) used my nut driver and POW lol then came to see that i had capped the neutral and hot was just free to zap.

Alot of these guys will read this and be mindfucked because at first i was lol.
But if you want my true thought of why my incident happened. I think it was over someone doing a half ass job also. a week or two before hand i was on production, Coal Crew, and the same box kept knocking power.... I personally didn't see the 1st shift elec. touch it with my own eyes, but it doesn't take 30 minutes to throw the blades on a box.
