I'm at the end of a long journey to figure out wtf is clunking in the rear end.

I have searched and even commented on one thread thinking I found it being the diff (I was wrong).

From the moment I got my car running, it has had a welded diff. Makes a god awful clunking sound around corners and upon accel/deccel.

I started the hunt with installing SPL solid SF bushings, made it worse.

Replace every component in the rear suspension, toe traction, ruca, endlinks, swaybar bushings, axles, wheel bearings, and even swapped a open diff, then I installed a poly tranny mount and it still does it.

Led me to thinking that it was a bad carrier bearing or U-joint in the driveshaft. So I got a one-peice steel shaft from the DSS, and everything just got louder. I don't mind if this is normal, I just want to be sure there is not anything wrong. It is now starting to do it upon hard braking.

It sounds like the universe is colliding in the rear end, anyone have any ideas that could lead me to a conclusion?

Thanks.

The bolts in the forward position were tight. Bolts were in the holes farthest back for the support were not even hand tight. So about 3/6" of play in the frame where the bumper support slides into. So on the outside of the bumper, it was about 3/4 up and down I could move it.

up BAM, down BAM. Welded diff was just making it move up and down. BAM BAM BAM BAMbam BAM. Shit was awlful, I don't know how I didn;t notice that changing out pretty much everything lol.
