guage cluster install...

just put in my SR gauge cluster today... fairly easy... found it easier to drop the steering coloumn completely (held on by 2 bolts)... still in very good condition but had to use the clear cover plate from the ka cluster...other than that its cool... feels funny going about 65 but the numbers read 100.. lol ill get used to it...
next is a digital climate control i got with the plug in harness to the SR..:drool:

EDIT: oh yah once i got everything bolted back on my battery took a dump and i had to pushstart it and now its sitting in front of my house not being driven until i get a new battery...
anyone know the difference between the optima redtop and optima yellow top??

The RED top is more of a starter battery, it creates more cranking amps than the YELLOW top. the YELLOWtop is more of a performance battery. it has a Higher voltage rating, less resistance, larger capacity, and a longer lasting reverve capacity.

These batteries are designed for engine starting applications. They are not
recommended or warranted for use in deep cycle applications.

Go to optima's website, the red-top is the standard sealed battery that is designed for almost all automotive applications.

The yellow-top is deep cycle and designed for heavier duty applications where the battery will take some serious use (loose more than its surface charge), and where it will need to be re-charged more often.

The blue-top is a similar deep cycle battery but intended for marine use. I havent looked at the product specs in terms of amps and storing capacity, but it seems like the blue top is just a more performance oriented deep cycle battery than the yellow.

For most automotive folks, a red-top should do the job. I wanted a crazy battery and spent extra on the blue top, plus I wanted the additional power posts since I *had* a lot of accessories at the time.. oh I cant wait to finish my car.. one day. :)

Anyway, red top for just about everyone.

thanks for your replies guys... did my research and am going with the red-top...i only have one sub and one amp with after market speakers... nothing else...
ive heard on FA that the optimas yellow tops causes the AF to run lean anyone ever heard of that?

WHOA whoopsie i messed up i reversed the yellowtop and redtop meanings.
