View Full Version : CA FS: S14 - LS1 swap, competition suspension, street driven, track ready
I've decided to keep it... unless you roll up with a jillion dollars... Thanks to all my friends here on the forums or elsewhere telling me how stupid I am about selling it. You are right. See you guys at the track.

Thanks man! I made it out of alumalite.

It's common among v8s, especially LSx motors, VQ motors, s2k motors, that they consume oil over time. It lies with the ring vs cylinder wall clearance.

common in v8s? ive owned my share of ls1,ls2, hemis, 302 sbf, and never really consumed oil unless oil was to thin for application or the motor has cheap 1/8" oil rings.... could be scaring on cylinder walls, high heat within the motor.... not bashing your motor bc i absolutely love these swaps and plan on one in the near future...
glws sale bro!!!

Consumption is actually a pretty common problem on LS1's, the two that I have had were both under 70K and did the same thing.

that first pic better be your facebook profile pic.
hah nice! I had owners of the cars I mentioned stating they had oil consumption issues. but yeah motor is pretty strong and well taken care of. thanks for the positive feed back n all. if it doesn't sell I might have to drop on a ls7 or something to show the zo6 guys what's up ;)

I have been working at Oregon state Emission station.
In order to make it legal,
OBD-II has to be working and check for all the readiness. At least for California and Oregon state.
Not sure if you can do that with swap...
I would like to know if he got the OBD-II working...
Unless Vehicle is 1995 or older...
In Oregon, as long as there is 1 Catalytic converter and HC below 220ppm CO Below 1.0% you are PASSED !

Yeah obd II has to work but its going to say that its a camaro or whatever car he has flashed onto the computer. But I can take every single piece of emissions equipment off a GM car and with a few clicks of the mouse make it pass plug in inspection guaranteed 100%.
Badass drift pic! GLWS!
Thanks! funny thing is the car wasn't moving at the time my friend took it heh... funny what photoshop can do!
so is this street legal? because i know it can be done
My car isn't, but you're right it can be done. I haven't had time to look into it as I was too busy with school and doing the whole "living it up" (aka being stupid) bit. :)

It can be done. I just haven't gotten around it it (lazy + other life things going on heh)

I was kind of surprised when I talked to 350z owners, s2k owners, and other 'v' owners that this happens. I'd recommend a catch can any car that's driven hard. It's pretty crazy thinking all that oil is getting thrown back in the engine to be burned up again. Ugh!
wow! sick car bro, I hope you get what this is worth!
Thanks man! Me too!

Yeah car has seen some good 'n bad. I think a roll cage would liven up the chassis a bunch. The price of the car is pretty much all the parts, not including the car itself which is kind of funny when I think about it. I can tell you how to make one. Maybe I'll just make a bunch of 'em and sell it hehe... hmmm...
Im loving this s14 right now.

Thanks! I have to thank Steen Chassis in Signal Hill for getting the swap done for me. I'd recommend 'em for all kinds fab work! Welds are a beauty!

Yeap working OBD2 port. If I do end up keeping the car I'll look into getting it REF'd and will definitely post steps to do something like that for someone who's interested about doing the swap later on.

Yeap! I have a Diable Tuner that'll come with the car. Right now it's running stock tune (bit too rich).

Woah I'll definitely look into that if I do end up keeping it!

Woah nice! As of now I'm saving up to go to Motorsports School and/or a long vacation from work so no trades for me. But your car sounds awesome!

Hey thanks! Don't forget to get a build thread going for your project! I'd like to see it when it's done. I'm sure you'll love the LSx motor. Careful when you power out of corners! :hsdance:

Any interest in trades? I've got a 2006 Mazdaspeed6 GT, velocity red mica, black leather interior with ~79k miles on it. Only mods are Cobb Short Ram Intake, stiff rear motor mount and sharkfin antenna(if you consider that a mod). There would be cash on my end. Let me know, thanks.
Hey cool car, but sorry no trades. I really need to take a long break and start up school. Good luck with your sale though!

I can work with you on price. For example if you don't want the brakes I can lower the price and sell the car without them.
