I'd hate to see your idea of bad fabrication..... There is absolutely no VE engineering thought or design to that manifold what so ever.

... oh and the welds look like something Micheal J. Fox' cawk fabbed up.

The dude owns a business too. I don't understand how someone so clueless about everything he talks about can operate a shop.

But yeah dude, that manifold is rad! He apparently boost 2bar of pressure at idle while revving!!!! God I wish I could afford for him to make me a mani for my sr.

Just from looking at it, I can say this:

Absolutely not, and it's far from rad.

Everybody's such a hater. Who cares if it's not efficient, or if the welds aren't the best.

It's cool that the dude went ahead and made something himself. He's different, so what.

Looks to me like he just wanted to make some insane looking manifold. And it does indeed look insane.

Holly crap that thing is huge. I don't think it adds any performance to that set up at all. Got to love how the BOV is vented into the turbo ... and the welds are just fucking bird turds..

He also talks allot of shit in that thread. This guy runs his mouth way to much.

Glad zilvia isn't like that.

terrible tig welds. honestly shouldn't have put hella nice welding in the thread title cause he is SO WRONG! that and he CLEARLY didn't back purge the manifold...tisk tisk tisk. someone needs to learn how to weld stainless.

ericcastro
03-09-2011, 01:23 AM
i thought the whole twisty thing was because you want the air flow to have to take the same amount of travel??
Basically, the headers/manifold, should measure the same length no matter which cylinder it comes out of.

Its definetly not my cup of tea, and until he can put up some power graphs, i cant see that setup working at all.
Wouldnt run it on my car thats for sure, awesome work for somebody at home.. but for a workshop er....

BOV directly infront of the turbo, is already a dead give away of something not right, but if he hes put thought into this setup cant way to see it in action i guess..

I read that thread trying to justify his actions or credentials, then amongst all the e-thuggery, read this:

The setups I build are most known for their reliability. You talk about couplers, bad tuning, technology, ect...I'm all for simplicity.

OH REALLY? I HADN'T NOTICED!

looks like there is about 1" between engine and your exhaust side of turbo...

Well he welded the runners togeather, I feel bad when that manifold cracks/explodes when it expands from the heat.

Hopefully nobody get hit with schrapnel.

You can tell all of that welding was not done with pride and I hope nobody from here goes to that shop.

Lol this reminds me of matsuri this summer, some missle had what im pretty sure was the stock manifold bolted to a 2x4 hollow metal beam and the turbo was bolted on top of that like 8 inches above the engine. Car sounded like dick and looked like it made no torque

Z32TT-R
03-10-2011, 02:15 AM
I wouldnt be surprised if that cracked having some of those runners welded together like that, and that collector looks like complete shit. I wouldnt pay for this garbage, there's obviously more wrong with it, but has already been stated. I cant believe he said twin scroll mani are basicly bad, wtf?? how much R&D in that shit compared to his garage mani, seriously? lmfao...

I think this is my favorite part

Bearca: yeah right.
you see how short your runners are on your manifold....you are fucked

fc3sbmx (http://www.sfldrifters.com/forums/member.php?u=1091)
I know, I was originally planning on making a really long runner manifold, I'd heard the longer the better and I wanted the most torque. So I was planning on building a small trailer, which my turbo would be mounted to, and I would actually tow it behind my car. Each runner would be approximately 23 feet long, and my torque estimate was somewhere around 6900 ft/lbs at 4200rpm. Things didn't quite work out though, and my runners ended up only being about 4 inches long.
