View Full Version : Faint smell of fuel inside car??

Hi all, i just got my s14 sr20 on the road, I've been driving it around and i smell a faint smell of fuel inside the car.I wonder if i didnt correctly install the fuel pump??or do i have a leaky injector?? please someone help me out before i get serous migranes lol:rant:

is it tuned? could just be running rich.

Check for leakage in engine bay none check under the car for leakage still can't find it its the tank.

no tune stock ecu its probably running rich,i have a aeromotive fpr set to 43.5

i may be wrong, but i think when the bov isnt recirculated it causes the ecu to confuse fuel and makes it run rich.

yes ill do that i dont think the injectors are leaking because i dont really see fuel in engine bay or near the intake mani

It could also be the o ring in the tank or the upper gasket in the trunk too

If you replaced the ff parts for aftermarket ones i suggest to get new gaskets for them:
Fuel pump- housing plate o-ring gasket
Fuel injectors o-ring gaskets
Fuel filter- check for loose clamps or cracked hoses
Lastly check fuel tank and fuel hoses for leaks and cracks

aigh thanks ill check those things,when i upgrade my injectors i will put in new o-rings

more than likely it your o-ring for your fule pump i had the same problem it need to be replaced every time your remove your fuel pump
