I hope this is the right place to be asking this but I have a set of stance gr coilovers on my s14 and am hearing an awful clunking sound coming from the front left. I jacked my car up tonight and was able to move the bottom of the coilover up making the clunking sound. Does this mean my coilover is blown and is there anything else I can do besides replacing the set?
thanks

Move the coilover up? You mean you did this by hand?
Did you make sure to tighten the collars of the coilovers with a screwdriver & hammer?

yeah I first lifted the tire and could hear it moving so I grabbed the bottom of the coilover and was able to move it up and was hearing the clunking. Sorry the car came with the coilovers and im still learning but where is the collar of the coilover?
and how can I tighten it?

Hmmmmm if its clunking and your moving it by hand i would call stance up and see how much to replace or rebuild it...sounds like its blown if your moving it like that.... is it leaking any oil from that coilover??? And as far as tighting it there should be a lock collar on the bottom where its threaded on the coilover check that if its lose use a flat head and hammer or if ya got spanner wrenches use those just be careful when doing the hammer method. good luck man

its the top nut put the car back down and impact it tight. i dont want to hear the"no impact on top nut" crap. it works.

The flat head hammer method is one of the steps to correctly install and tighten your coilovers. If you read the instructions in any coilover manual, it will tell you to tighten them this way.
I would tighten all the nuts ontop of the coilover in the engine bay, and also make sure all the collars on the coilovers are tight!
Not too sure on this one, but i think he has to qualify for the warranty (1yr) and i don't think they do rebuilds. I was told you have to send in all 4. I could be wrong but that's what i was told.

the nut on the top of the coilover is loose and I dont have an impact wrench at home, and will I need to take the dampening knob off to impact that nut?

+1 also make sure the coilover over is bolted completely down to the strut tower

alright so when I go to tighten the bolt the inside of the coilover keeps spinning like inside of the spring. Do the strut tower nuts need to be torqued?

If you can easily compress your coilover by hand, and its making a clunking its blown. This is from personal experience + google. Stance can probably rebuild them for you though?
