95-96 front end to 97-98 front end conversion

I've been wanting a 97-98 240 for the longest. but are so rare to find here in the northwest. so im thinking of just buying a 95 and slapping on a 97-98 front end. a friend of mines is willing to sell me his since he got a s15 front end now. is it hard to do? or is it just bolted on?

Bolts right on.  It's the same chassis.

anyone know if doing the 97-98 front end on a fastback would be difficult? besides shaping the fenders and hoods and stuff to fit the front... what other mods would it take?
(just asking for future reference)

Well if you want to shape the fenders... OR you could just buy the fenders for that conversion... Masa makes good ones.. Generally around 700 - 800 for the conversion.

Uses stock hood, front bumper, lights, etc.

You have to change the hood cus the hoods on the 95-96 are different along with the fenders and headlights.But other then that it should be all good and oh yeak you need a new front grill they snap intot the head light.<img src="http://www.nv2.cc.va.us/HOME/JOOSBORN1/IMAGES/FULL FRONT.JPG">

i think you can get it from the dealer for like 800 bucks, outch!!! so depends on how much your friiend wants to sell it, maybe u can get a better deal

Ha ha cody funny NOT.I forgot to move it when i took the pic i took my intake off and cleaned it waslooking for my absolute presure sensor cus i screwed it up and my friend told me where it was and then i saw it says boost sensor lol why do i need a boost sensor.But any way hey guys its up to you but here is a site where a guy has a data base and is coming to the meet on sat but he will put you up and shit if you want.www.dragonswordmotorsports.com and if you want to see whos been added click the locater and choose what area and choose your class etc...and you will see i am in va and so are the others that i know.

I did the changeover...what you need are the 2 fenders the hood...the headlights and corner lights...the bumper...radiator support...little blinker light on the bumper...have to have a shop wire the headlights to work for you unless you are proficient at electrical connections...

One other part you may need, the Radiator core support. That is what the head lights actually bolt up to. I have never compared the lights of a s14a to a s14b to see if the mount points are the same.

sorry for bringing this post back but I am interested in this swap if not doing this I am doing the S15 convo. So I will need new headlights, turns, hood and fenders correct?

gsrcamel, basically you need a complete outer panel etc front clip....everything! someone else posted here a while back that the radiator core support panel can be easily mod'd to accept the headlamp mounts, but that panel does have a diff part # at the dealer.
