i was just reading through unstable hybrids web page and one of the ka-t's had a "blow through maf" setup... now if u look at the intake off the turbo there is no maf? so were the hell would it have gone? if it was on the accuall pipe to the intercooler wouldnt u think that would give some nasty signals and run like crap?

any one have any info on blow through maf setups is basically what that all meens.

A blow through MAFS setup means that the MAFS is placed somewhere between the turbo and throttle body so it reads the air that the turbo is blowing into the engine. A draw through setup is when you put the MAFS in a place so it reads the air getting drawn into into the turbo.

so what would be the advanatge\disadvantage of having a blow through maf rather than a pull through maf?

One advantage with blow through setup is that as long as you put the BOV between turbo and MAF, you can vent to atmosphere and not have to worry about recirculating the BOV.

so were is the typical place to put the maf? right after the turbo or over by the throttle body?

this is a very good question. I have been trying to figure this out for a while.

You want to place the MAF as close to the TB as possible without placing it in a section where airflow may not be even through the MAF. This will help prevent a great amount of air from flowing "backwards" through the MAF when closing the throttle plate from WOT.

does this work even with the hacked maf.
