Ok i feel like a retard right about now but im in need of some help. I was cutting the inserts out of my rear subframe and came down to the last one...new blade an all, and well......I accidentally cut through the sleeve. Am i fucked or can i just weld it and still pop in my SPL Aluminum Spacers??? If iam then i guess i just blew $100 :doh::doh::doh:

You better have a pro weld it. Cast iron is no joke.

If you want to wing it, make sure to really preheat the area before welding.

I think that would depend on how the sleeve looks. Pretty hard to tell you without pictures.

I'd probably have your buddy try to fix it, you've got nothing to lose.

I think you mean aluminum solid bushings, not spacers???
If you can weld it back, then yeah, no need for a new one.
But pictures would help.

I showed it to one of the welders here (I work in a metal shop).
He said, is your life worth $100?
It's possible to weld but hard to say if it will hold.

Hahahah cast iron? WTF? That shit is NOT cast iron LOL.....

Put the ALU Subframe risers in there.... Weld it shut.... then Weld a re-enforcement plate.... Should have been more careful... sounds like you were rushing it....

Totally agree. Thats 100% fixable by any welder. No need to reinforce it, a strong weld will be fine.

OOCH man! i would just weld the cut then reinforce it by welding a plate over it to be on the safe side just my 2 cents.

if i were you i'd just have it tig welded if you friend can do that, it's stronger and a small bead.
