My girlfriends uber-nice black on black 94' 240sx vert' got hit by a moron in huge pick up about 3 weeks ago. Insurance luckily decided not to total it (at the time,) so the car went to a body shop. The car needed a new front bumper, drivers front quarter, driver's rear quarter and headlight assembly. As of last night my girl gets a call from the body shop telling her that they "found more damage." Apparently the hood is buckled into the crush zone so they have to buy a hole new one insted of smoothing it out. They are saying that a new hood for a 240 is around $400! Bad part is that with this extra $400 on the bill, the cost of repairs is going to exceed the kelley Blue Book value ($3,575 which is super BS in itself.) This means that the insurance company may decide to total the car! You and I both know that this cannot happen as there aren't too many 94' 240sx's around. So what I am looking for really is a place where I can get some good quality 240 parts for decent prices and some advice from anyone that's been in this situation before. Any help is much appreciated!

Well, you could get the parts from a junkyard, and just have the shop repaint em. Would be a lot cheaper than all new.

And, being totaled is not necessarily a bad thing. You can but it back from the insurance company(i bought my totaled s14 back for about $500), collect the insurance money, and then get it fixed yourself. May actually make money on the deal. Only problem is that it would show up as totaled on carfax which would drop the resale value. As long as its not gonna be sold any time soon and the frame's not bent, that should work out fine.
