well that was the first plan.... didnt work out that way clearly.

but then I got a crazy deal on a sr20 and now i can keep the stock motor in storage so if i go to sell the s15 i can just put it back to stock and keep the built motor and all the goodies for the next car.

There's laws preventing the importation of cars never sold in the United States. Because that would fall into the illegal category, lol. Most people will argue that their car is legal because they may have been able to acquire a title and insurance for the car but, that is only on a state level. From a federal standpoint the vehicle is still illegal. No big deal as long as they never get in an accident or get a ticket while driving their "titled" illegal car.

It's not unheard of for people to swap vins out of a 240sx into a Skyline/Silvia which I believe is what you're talking about. And then register the car as a 240sx.

im pretty sure it was 165hp at the crank if its a type S or an sr20de. Regarding the importation of cars there's ways of legally registering a imported car. However its gotta go through US customs, it takes tons of research, money, and hundreds of requirements. There's also ways of getting the car registered under the radar of US customs as well, you just gotta know/ find loop holes.
To the OP: you dont know how lucky you are to have an s15, many of the zilvians dream cars, me included! :drool:

Very curious why you put a fitting on the intake side of the valve cover where that rubber grommet goes as that is supposed to feed vacumm from the head on to that side of the motor. there obviously isn't anywhere oem a big ass -8 or 10 fitting (looks like you used 10) to mate with on that side of the motor.

Only the Autech version, the regular Spec S was 165 just like the kouki S14. Exact same motor.

as far is the sr's go... Your best but is to pick something up used and do a rebuild... There's a few local shops that can get you some good ones if you just want to throw it in.

No, you can call and thank Mercedes Benz. Back in the 80's exchange rates made it very profitable to import "grey market" cars from Europe, Mercedes, BMW and Porsche. You buy a car there for 15,000, ship it for 500 and sell it here for 20k because dealers here are charging 30k.

Benz went to congress and argued the price gouging was necessary because of additional safety and environmental testing and millions of people will die each year if people are aloud to keep importing a dozen or so Euro-tuned cars with glass headlights.

Needless to say, they fell for it and thus the 25 year rule was born.

Don't really know yet.. I'm ripping out the interior as of right now. going to pull the motor and rebuild it. fix the rust paint it white, slam it, cage it, put some work SP1's on it and go from there ahhaha

Don't really know yet.. I'm ripping out the interior as of right now. going to pull the motor and rebuild it. fix the rust paint it white, slam it, cage it, put some work SP1's on it and go from there ahhaha

Very curious why you put a fitting on the intake side of the valve cover where that rubber grommet goes as that is supposed to feed vacumm from the head on to that side of the motor. there obviously isn't anywhere oem a big ass -8 or 10 fitting (looks like you used 10) to mate with on that side of the motor.

Just curious.

question how did you like the BC cams or did you not even get a chance to feel them out.

figured i would ask i have herd some people say the cams put out some nice power herd other say they are junk. I have them in my setup with some solids but have not yet tooo start the car

Yea i have no idea man, My friend tuning the car said he liked them..

They sound good, but thats all i got out of them so far. when i finally drive the car I'll be sure to let you know. but that wont be for awhile.

it's not Teflon tape... It's metal that came threw after I cleaned off the Powder coat..

Because that would fall into the illegal category, lol. Most people will argue that their car is legal because they may have been able to acquire a title and insurance for the car but, that is only on a state level. From a federal standpoint the vehicle is still illegal. No big deal as long as they never get in an accident or get a ticket while driving their "titled" illegal car.

I'm sure not every officer even has a clue the car is illegal when he issues a ticket, but let's say he does know the car's illegal, what would happen? Citation? Bigger ticket? Or would the car just be impounded?

I'll add my 2 cents: I have a friend who got his R33 GTS-T seized by the feds because of an illegal title. My buddy ran the plates with the DMV and it was registered as a 1992 Nissan Sentra.
