I went to get some brakes the other day at a local performance shop, and we got talking about rotors... anyway he mentioned something about crossed drilled rotors have a tendency to form hairline cracks under hard braking. Is this true? Has anyone had this problem before? Thanks... and I did search, but nothing found. Cheers-

All rotors will form stress cracks under race conditions.

That said, I would imagine (from a purely logical POV, nothing more) that drilled rotors would have a higher tendency to crack. If they were poured with the holes, it'd be a different story.

Drilled rotors on our cars are for bling only, don't let anybody tell you differently...
