ok so i have searched and searched trying to find answers.... but no luck. My ebrake light is always on when the car is running and the engine doesnt run well under 1000rpm.

It all started when my alternator when out. I had the ebrake battery combo and when i came to stops the car would just die due to lack of power output, lights would dim and car dies. I replaced the alternator and battery light is gone. The engine control fuse was out replaced that, but no change. Brake fluid is full and i flushed the whole system a few months ago. The little switch at the ebrake handle is also fine.

I am so lost at what this could be. where im at right now is my car starts and drives fine but when i come to a stop i have to feather the gas to keep it from stalling. It has been running fine for months and months until the alternator went out. I cant find any info so PLEASE PLEASE help

you should specify what motor this is but in any case, sounds like you have a bad ecu temp sensor and or bad idle air control valve.

the e-brake light is turned on by a ground that activated when the e-brake is pulled up, there is a contact point under the boot towards the base of the e-brake. take off the rubberish boot and see if you have a bad connection. may have been damaged or corroded.

Does any of that help?

I had a similar problem, I changed the eng control fuse in the engine bay in order to fix it.

oh yes its a 92 ka24de

i already checking the physical slide/button whatever you want to call it on the hand brake. my idle problem is directly related to the 10 amp fuse and some how the ebrak light is also tied in. I am like 90% sure its an electrical problem but i do not know what runs off of the 10amp engine control fuse.

I just need a place to start looking. Does anyone have a diagram of the the fuse box in the engine bay and what each fuse powers?
