Try a google on VLSD and try not to be too upset when people light you up for this post. They are going to be mean, just so you know.

I believe that site would be more... "you".

What I mean to say is, gtfo.

Why dont you google nissan 240sx wiki, and look at all the info there.

REally though, go somewhere else, If you cant work the ol' internet machine, we dont want you.

Not everyone can come on here and be called a zilvian :) you need at least some common sense and life skills aka research skills which the OP seems to be lacking :) nicely put.

Give man a fish and he will survive for a day, Teach a man how to fish and he will survive for years...if you get what I am saying

^ three post here, and you havent helped him.
talk about calling the kettle,.......well, is black still PC to say in that phrase??
Or is it calling the kettle "iron american", or some shit?

Shitty gas mileage, 22mpg ish.
if its under 150miles, cool, if over 220, could go any time. (like any car.)
keep the oil filled and change regularly and they last a long time.
VLSD mean Viscous.
Its kind of like Posi traction.
When you really step on the gas it will lock both wheels so you get maximum traction, but when turning and regular driving, it lets the wheels turn at different speeds for better traction/grip, so you dont slide out (basically acts like a regular diff that came in the car till your on the gas hard, then it is more of a performance thing)
ITs definatly an upgrade, but they only cost about $300 used.

i own a single cam ka 240. as far as reliability goes, its a tank of an engine and hold up great for its size, it only pushes about 140-150hp stock which isnt bad but most 240 owners prefer a more powerful engine, especially on this forum, 99% of them are sr fanboys. while you wont get your moneys worth from building a single cam KA when compared to a sr, or rb. its a strong daily driver. a vlsd is a (viscous limited slip differential) its a lsd that uses fluid to lock the gears in your drivetrain, as apposed to a bead lock on the spider gears. my KA is pretty much stock, aside from minor bolt ons, and it consistantly gets about 25-30 mpg depending on how often i stomp on it. if you do go with the single slammer know that you wont be competition ready for any drift meets but you can slide around town real nice, and dont let the members of this site get to ya, most of them are jerks anyway.
