if you live in TN and have a CAI but no bypass valve (the thing AEM makes to deter water from getting past a point in your intake) then i suggest you get one.

what happened to me today since it has been raining like no tomorrow, at my school i was unsuspecting of a puddle and took me by surprise. i went through it and right after my car died. i waited a couple minutes and then i tried to crank, no luck. i did it again and i got a sputter and then the car died again. after i waited a couple more minutes i cranked it with the gas all the way down and it lived, but with smoke out of the exhaust. i was like.."great there is water in my engine" but at least it runs. i revved up to about 5k for about 2-3 more minutes and the smoke went away but the car still feels a bit sluggish. i popped the hood, removed the spark plugs, cranked for a few minutes to get some more water out. ah well..tomorrow i change the oil...its time for new oil anyways.

lesson: i got lucky. my car lived, and i really dont care as long as it runs because my SR comes in 3 weeks. but if you dont want to get screwed, please PLEASE get the AEM bypass. i believe its only like $50 but it will save you. it will fit on your injen CAE, from what i have heard. dont look stupid and get water in your engine like me.

Ohhh man, yeah watch out.

Can I ask you something, why didn't you take off the CAI pipe if it's raining like no tomorrow ?

Should I run all water in my raditor in the winter 50 below zero ?

Anyways, glad to hear everything turned out ok.

well this was the first actual problem i have had with the CAI. in the past, i drive through puddles, small ones, and have not had a hard time. this one suprised me and i guess my luck ran out, as far as not dying when going through a puddle. i still consider myself lucky, though, because it runs without any serious problems.
