ok im trying to install a ingen short ram air intake and when taking the old assembly off there is a hose that connects to the bottom of the old plastic intake system (right by the battery).
I dont have an inlet for my new intake for that hose.
whats the deal with that hose and what does it do???
misnomer

This a big ole huge hose that goes straight down?
On the KA24DE, that just goes to a big bucket by the fan shroud. Don't worry about it. Hell, reach down there, take out the screws, and pull the whole dern bucket out!

is that so it doesnt suk all its air through the filter??

if this is the black hose with the red paint you are talking about, iirc that line goes to the AIV solonoid.
If anything, it makes your intake illegal in CA hehe.
Most of the lines feeding into the intake are for reburning exhaust and fuel vapors.

thanks again
but heres one more question
I have that little 1/8" hose connecting right to the injen intake and it runs to right by the TB.
but on the oem it tee's off and runs across the front of the fan toward the filter.
where is that hose going>??

does it lead to a a little black box next to the air box or to those brass pipes on the intake mani...or does it go to the valve cover or ACC valve(little black box)

ok ill try and explain better.
on the oem intake theres a 1/4" hose that goes underneath the intake and then tee's off to 2 smaller hose's. One of those smaller ones goes to what you have explained as the fuel tank breather. the 2nd 1/8" hose goes across the front of the radiator fan towards the air box.
thanks alot for the help
I have installed the intake and it seems to run great. i just want to make sure that all the hoses are ok.
case now i have only 3 hose hooked up.
the one on the valve cover the one to the right of the TB and the one little on below the throttle body.
I hope that all that needs hooking up.
it just worries me cause now that hose that tees off isnt hooked up to anything.
