Before the flames start buring I will post 2 things.
-I searched and found nothing usful
-I can get a brand new QR25DE for around 250$
With that stated, what do you have to do to get that engine into the 240. I have heard nothing but rumors and claims of people putting this engine in the 240. I feel that if I can get it for 250, and get it put in and get it running right, it would be quite a unique and smart swap for the price I payed for it.
With stock 180HP and 180Touque it has vvt, which is neet. and with a super charger or some NA goodies it would be a beast. I know they use this engine in Sentra race cars, which means their is lots of na aftermarket for it.
Does anyone have some info on how I could go about doing this? Money figures or anything that could help me on this?
Thanks

the engine isnt build to fit in a car like the 240sx .. you know all the swap we see RB25DET SR20DET CA18DET VG30DET (supra turbo engine :D dont remember the name) are build to fit in a FR platform with some modification.
the QR25DE is certainly a nice engine but you will kinda shot yourself in the foot if you try to do this swap... if you want absolutely to do it be prepared to spend a SH*tload of money ..maybe 10000 (and more) .. but it would certainly be a unique car....
anyway i'm done

I have an option w/ a
303PS S14 w/ s13 SR20DE. Tomei built
And theres a young version w/ a s14 silvia Q's
SR20DE
HKS headers,exhaust, grounds & filter
Wires and plugs.
it makes 140 to the wheels.....
but there's also a thing that says "shock" 91ps and has some Cams next to it......Hum....
Dousan, its the young version w/ the koguchi picture you scanned a little bit ago, I think he signed it for you.....Dec '02

In the young version april 03 issue (white 180 drawing on front) there is a white S14 making 162.7WHP. It is on page 160. Pretty impressive...
I wish I had a scanner so you guys could actually see it.
Custom bellhousing to mate with tranny. Custom clutch. Custom engine mounts. Custom wiring. Custom header. Little things like custom intake piping and radiator piping.
= too much money. Mainly in the bellhousing and the engine mounts. The clutch woud probably take some prototyping. Honestly, it's cheaper to get a RWD SR20DE. Otherwise build the KA24DE or plop in an F20C if you really love N/A. Both would probably be cheaper than the QR25DE.

Ruf,
Thats the stuff you need to get the SR20DE to work in the USDM S13? I thought it would be more bolt in, like the DET. Oh, also I meant the RWD version not FF version from SER's/
I was talking about fwd qr25de. rwd sr20de will be drop in just like sr20det.

You could probably get away with a custom flywheel to use a KA or SR clutch, and have a bellhousing adapter made to mate the tranny to the engine.
Someone should check the port spacing on the head, and then just make an adaptor plate out of some 1/2" thick steel to adapt a header. Intake, exhaust, and radiator plumbing shouldn't be TOO bad, but the coolant lines will most likely take some odd/ un-ideal routes.
Finally, the CAS and the intake manifold may point the wrong way... i don't remember off the top of my head the QR layout.
F20C would be nasty though.....

Humm SR20DE, interesting, isent their a sr20det fwd that comes stock with ITBs, if so, would that work on an rwd sr20?

I look at it like this, anything can work as long as you've got some $$.
Bluebird (Altima) SR20DET is FWD config.
Pulsar/Sunny GTi-R SR20DET is transverse (like FWD) and 4WD drivetrain. This is the engine with the ITBs, stronger internals, solid pivot valvetrain, T28. I can't remember if the CR is different. Same issues as a QR. Best to graft all the parts to a RWD redtop.

yea GTiR mani was my plan, my buddy has one, ill talk to him about getting it if i find a cheap sr20de, which must be rare huh.

If I'm not mistaken, there is a RWD QR25DE in an Australian SUV. The factory rated hp is 175, torque is 180. There really isn't much aftermarket for the QR, either. Much of what RTR has on their race Spec V is proprietary, and totally unstreetable at 250hp N/A. You could swap it in, but only with an imported RWD QR (Pratically); and even at that, you won't get the power of the SR20DET with bolt on power upgrades.

if you want a high hp n/a rwd, go with the ka24e. can be built for much cheaper than any kind of swap. imho it is better than the sr20de, different and deadly. if you dump 2k into the E you can have a monster. you already know this Oni.
The QR25DE is in the X-Trail and it is also mounted transversely like the GTiR. Bolting it up to a RWD tranny would not be that easy.

the E has lots of truck racing support behind it, a 200 hp na engine isn't too far away.

yea, i know, as i said, i have many choices
I wouldn't go with the QR. They have not proven to be very reliable yet. Try to get a nice SR20DE RWD. That would be original and that would be worth it too! :)

Yea the SR20DE or the KA24E where 2 of my main choices, we will see, im sure a sr20de wouldent be to hard, but i need to find a sr20de rwd, which im sure arent comman

I think I can source you one... I'll check that out for you... maybe a whole clip. they must be pretty cheap compared to DET's..

I can't remember if the CR is different.
I think I read somewhere that the Pistons from Gti-R and RWD SR are the same.......Just that the deck on the Gti-R is taller, making it have a lower CR.
