My original question
Ok I've searched with some success but not much because it seems like everyone deletes the two options in question. I want to convert to 5 lug on my HICAS daily driver, but I want to retain both HICAS and ABS since they work fine. Keep in mind that this is strictly a daily driver with absolutely no emphasis on competition. I need some input from some of the Nissan gurus on the options I have for the conversion that will allow me to keep those options. Thanks in advance for any help.

I dont consider myself a guru by a long shot, but i'll chime in... As long as you get the correct 5-lug rotors(if there is a difference) for the ABS on your HICAS it should work just fine with out modification. Rear hubs that fit 240's are the same, z32/s14 or after market (and if I'm wrong may I get flamed for it!! ). Just use your HICAS rear knuckle the 5-lug hub bolts to it and "poof" 5-lug and HICAS you lucky bastard!!...lol And, this link rocks by the way... Hicas & abs? Double gross!
For a comfortable daily driver, it is definitely not gross lol. I already have a slammed, no option, s13. I rather like the contrast for driving to and from work everyday.
For a slick daily, i think youre right.
Till both of those systems fuck up and you wish you would have gotten rid of them instead of wasting money to keep them. Lol

You need to get your head checked out if you think the 240sx abs system is a sought after or coveted option... lmao How many times have you seen under the hood of an s13 or s14 and said "Man I wish I had abs!" I personally think super hicas turns a s13 into even more of a death trap. Something I'd gladly get rid of.
I guess I should have qualified that with a "daily perforamce", huh. I think the vast majority of people that drive the s-chassis for performance purposes do exactly like you state Mewantkouki, ditch that ABS and Hicas. For a daily though I dont see where its a terrible option. And I'd bet Nissan even marketed those options as perforamce options originally. With your experience on the matter I would cetrainly defer to you. I wouldnt know about either...my ride is a base and has none of that.*
His original question about the 5-lug relates more to any needed mods for the HICAS or ABS. In that case he can get away with upgrading to the 5 lug and keeping the comfort items that help him get into the tight parking spot a little easier and panic stop 2ft shorter (maybe). And still have all the workable options of a rather rare s-car.*
That and he has the option of a 2nd 240sx that would be more in-tune with performance related driving.
for a daily driver, dealing with morons in the rain, abs would be a nice thing to have... one less thing to have to wonder about when a minivan driver cuts off 3 lanes of traffic, 20 feet from their exit while in the heavy rain.

I'd say that for a comfy, daily, why not have hicus and abs? *its just like anything else, on any other car, new, old, fast, slow, every option is awesome while it is working...
Well this topic took a tangent pretty quick.
You can use whatever you want for the rear hubs. *Z32, S14, aftermarket, it doesn't matter. *The HICAS and ABS use the rear sensor on the snout of the diff. *Up front you basically have to use ABS S14 front spindles and hubs, unless you want to get creative. *What you're after are the trigger wheels on the front hubs. *You'll need those to retain your HICAS and ABS.
And just a side note while you're all pissing on HICAS... Jason Rhodes SCCA class-winning 240sx that destroyed everyone... that had functional HICAS and ABS.
I like that idea for a autocross/road race car.
So if I've got this right, to keep my options, for the front, I need S14 ABS spindles with hubs, S14 LCAs and balljoints, and the strut needs to be drilled to accept the larger strut bolt. For the rear, if it fits, it works?
