We have been messing with this damn s13 for weeks, normally if i mess with the plugin to the MAF itll start up, lately we got it to turn the key till the fuel pump kicks on, then it would go, but now it wont even start up. I really need some help with this and im totally outta ideas.

Can your describe a little better what happens when you turn the key.

Do you hear the fuel pump priming when you turn the accessories on?
Is the starter cranking over?
Are you getting fuel to the fuel rail?
Do you have spark?

Maybe your MAF harness connecter is damaged.

1: Fuel Pump goes on fine
2: Starter works great
3: Checked fuel rail a few days ago
4: Ive got spark checked that already

And i think it has some corrosion i tried to use some electrical cleaner on it but didnt work too well, and u cant just go out and get new plugs so im pretty stumped

Yeah what infa said we need more info.

but think of it as a check list.
-Fuel
-Spark
-Compression
-Ability to idle and rev/run per the ecu and its sensors.

so you said it runs better or whatever when you mess with the maf connection, mine did this once so i unwrapped all the wireing from about the valve cover to the plug and inspected it all. i had a little cut so i cut it all and resotterd it and heat shrinked it. i ended up making a mistake on the thicker insulated grey wire, it has a wire sorrund, this grounds the connection out if the little strands from the sorrund touch the inside wire. me being dumb as hell i didn't think of this so it diddnt work. so i got back in there and fixed it ensuring the wires were not touching. if you want to get fancy (wich i did) you can heat shrink the inner wire and then reconnect the outside around it...

After that i never had any MAF problums. i did the same thing with the TPS.
come to think of it, it may have just been the tps with that thicker wire.

anyway if it changes when you mess with it, then the wire or connection are bad somewhere.

for fuel you can get a little gauege and place it on the fuel line.
or take the line off and crank it and see how much comes out.
or take the whole rail off the manifold with everything atatched and crank it and see if they spray.

also a neato doubble test is crank it with no plugs in. this will show a white fuel spray get pushed out the hole from the compression.

this will show you that you have fuel and compression. you shoudl still do a real compression test. but this is something to think about.

it could just be a bad fuel pump. the car should start with no maf but only rev to 3500 and idle like shit.

so try unplugging the maf and starting it.

just rambleing off ideas at you, im too lazy to spell check.. hopefully my stupid ranting sparks some ideas to help you out..
get back to us!

what has corrosion?
why cant you get new plugs?
the pump is turning on, but is it actually delivering consistent ~41psi (i think its sposta be somewhere around there)

its turning over right? or its not doing anything now?

u have a buddy you can just swap mafs to try that with since its quick and wont cost u money for starters, that will at least rule that out since u were thinking it coulda been the maf

Im gonna go throuhg my wiring today and see if i can find any problems there, I actuallly Replaced my MAF a couple weeks ago, the one that was on it when i bought it was bad, have NO idea how it ran without it lol. And i dont know how to check the pressure of fuel going through, im guessing thats in my pressure regulator that id test that? As for the Plugs i really have no idea WHERE to find replacements, if u know somewhere, link it uppp, Just to get it outta the way there is no junkyards in my area with the necassary parts ive been looking for

You dont have an autozone, advanced auto parts, o' reillys, or a pep boys of some sort around you? You can get plugs at any of those stores you know, even if you have an SR.

Ive asked them all they all said they dont carry that assortment of things

You mean to tell me autozone , pepboys told you they dont carry plugs?

Im pretty sure he means the MAF plug..

have you checked the damn orange wire from the ecu? My motor was swapped back from an sr when i got it, and he used damn twist tie butt connectors... thus the orange(cold start) wire was having a short and it had trouble starting everything works well now.. as for a plug i think i might have an extra i will pm you if i find one.

ill have to look into that tommorow pretty dark out but id appreciate u looking for one. i wish i just had a whole new harness but those things are more rare than a 16 year old virgin

no i think the harnesses are like 450 and nissan can order them..
but they may be out of stock idk..

^Lulz

i havent checked the actual pressure yet but i wil put it on my check list.

and screw that no way im paying 450 for a whole new harness id rather just carry a can of starting fluid around

yeah lol i doubt you need one
have you pulled the ecu codes yet?"

lol what?

Do you have an SR? Tell them you drive a 93 Nissan Sentra SeR (the sr20 model one) and they will have plugs for it

Otherwise the ngk ones are like bkr7e-11 or something like that, i used to go to those stores and pick them up all the time

If you have a KA and they cant get plugs for that then something is seriously wrong..

I'm pretty sure he's talking about harness connectors, not spark plugs.

yeah i can get spark plugs, but im getting spark so thats un needed. i think alot of people are misinterpreting things

Is your base timing set correctly? I don't know if you had messed with the timing, but if you did it might still be off.

have you done a compression test and pulled the codes yet? this is pointless until you come back without some useful information.
