It's called wheel hop.
And yes, it's the bushings in the rear subframe/control arms. They're all bad because your car is 20 years old.

+1 on shocks, i remb my whole front and rear end used to jump. Put coilovers on and it all went away.

Yeah, wheel hop is a combination of a lot of things. Most older cars do it, and some newer cars even do as well. CTS-V's were notorious for blowing apart rear-ends due to insane wheel hop. The one I drove was rediculous.
It could be shocks, but you would be experiencing a whole lot of other issues with blown shocks as well. New/solid subframe bushings, all rear arms, etc. should cut down on the problem.

Spend some money and replace either a) all of the bushing or b) all of the suspension arms:
1) Rear upper camber arms
2) toe rods
3) traction rods
4) front tension rods
5) Tie rods
6) Subframe spacers at least, or new bushings (aluminum if you're badass.....i've yet to do it tho)
I used to have wheel hop.
Now, I can break traction and you literally can't feel anything in the car, it is so buttery smooth!
Spend the money on the suspension, you will love the benefits, I promise!

Yea definitely change the subframe bushings out, that made a world of difference on my car for that sloppy rear end. And like everyone else said the other arms and stuff to would be great.
