i'm lookin to buy some gold or bronze rims, preferably with a polished silver lip, with a 5 or 7 spoke design. Now the wheels i've dreamed/want to get are either the LM GT4's in bronze, Volk TE37's in bronze, or the Gram Lights 57PRO's in gold. After I looked around at the prices, i saw realistically that it would be more practical for me (at this time) to get some knockoffs. The cheapest i could find for those rims was about 2g's for a set of 4. I'm lookin for 17", width and offset vary, and am able to drop probably about 1000 on a set. I've searched but most of the results pointed to Volks, 5Zigen, and Gram Lights, all of which are too expensive for me. The reason is i'm trying to get paint done as well, and want a good set of rims to go with new paint. Probably won't get true performance wheels until i get the car faster and with better suspension. Any suggestions for cheaper, good-looking, gold/bronze rims? thanks.

I could get you a set of knockoff Volks for around $1k or little less. They are CE28Ns though, not TE37. PM me if you are interested.

fiebru1119, thanks for the suggestion, i'm definitely lookin into some 5zigen wheels, like the FN01R-C's, but i also like the 5ZR's, and saw them in the bronze color on autoimaging.com which is out of business right? so the obvious followup is, any other good sites? i checked the link you gave, but i wanna check out if there are any bronze 5ZR's. the 5zigens are good less expensive bronze rims, anybody know any good knockoffs for gold rims? just trying to fully explore options...thanks...
p.s. dorifto, thanks for the offer, sent you a pm.

5chicken FN01RC
4 or 5x114.3 17x8 +27 17x9 +35 in bronze like 750$-800$ a set.
the phase2motortrend link has already been discussed.
Black racing n1 pro
5x114.3 17x8 +20 17x9+38 typically are about 900$ a set and have a bronze color option
www.jspec.com carries black racing
both are high quality inexpensive japanese brand bronze/gold wheels.

if i was in this situtation. i would just save up the rest. i would pay, at most, $500 for knock offs. $1000 is a lot of money to me and to throw it away into knockoffs would be a waste in my opinion. and with $1000 you're halfway there. why not just save up the rest? but if you are really looking to spend only $1000 for a set of rims. you can do what others have suggested. get some 5-zigens. or you can always go and get used jdm rims for about that price.

yah i know...it's just i'm trying to get a bodykit, and then repaint the whole car after that, and....basically i'm just impatient, heh. coming up with another 1000, it's gonna take me another couple months...and delay the other bodywork, yah i'm impatient. and i figure i don't really need perfomance wheels until i get the car faster w/better suspension set up which won't be at least until next year. i know should go performance first, but my paint's chipping, and if just repaint the front (where it's chipped) when i wanna repaint the whole car...might as well do everything, and don't wanna paint it before the body kit, then i'll spend unnecessary cash....eck i rambled too much, thanks for the suggestions tho.

Ahh I forgot to mention these knockoffs come in 17x8 and 17x9 +30. Not that I would RATHER have the imitation crap, but those sizes + some other option than FN01RC.

ADR Fuels, the bronze have a polished lip. ICW have the center painted bronze as well. I am looking into them
they are only 17 x 7 but ADR is having a big sale so all the online sites are selling them for like 800 for wheels and tires!
I was originally thinking the exact same thing : GramLights 57Pros! So hot. But once you scratch the 400 dollar wheel, it isn't worth anything. I am about decent quality disposable wheels. If I had a 50k car, then I would understand spending 3k on wheels and tires.
Check out ADR fuels

you don't need quality wheels if you're just buying it for looks, so yes, buy knockoffs...
if you're not going to see track times with the wheels, who cares if it's xyz heavier than the high end rims or if the quality isn't as good, if you daily drive the car and it's more for looks, it doesn't matter...
and besides, people are less likely to steal knockoffs..

cant afford NEW wheels? buy USED ones. as for cheap wheels, they work but they will also give you problems.. balancing issues, soft metal, etc.. of course, they are HEAVY.
if the car is a cruiser and your wife drives it, sure.. but for a man who cares about his car, i'de rock stock before buying knockoffs again. ive done that once in my life and learned my lessons.

ADR is a no-no...lowest offset they got is 42mm. *atleast when i looked them up a while back* Like everybody said...save the money and do it rite. you'll be a happier in the long run.

Ok, yeah ADR has a high offset, but if the guy doesn't care about it, then this would be a good call. I don't know about Excel wheels, but ADR are not that bad. They are the same quality as 5 chicken (as wylin calls it). Lets move this thread in this direction:
If you had $800- $1000 to spend on wheels AND tires, what would be your combination.
I personally like wide wheels, in bonze/gold and a polished lip. A fat lip means more to me than anything but I can't find anything decent for cheap. Looks like I am stuck. For me it is not about saving up for good wheels; I don't want to spend that type of money on wheels "." I am really cutting myself off at $1200 for wheels and tires.

Imma freakin save my money and my next set will proly be Volk GT-U in gold to compliment my red kouki. 18x9s 18-22mm offset up front and 18x10s 30mm in the rear.
if you want some cheap rims I have some gold stern aguzze wheels in the 4 sale section.

not that i love ADR wheels or anything, but these are not TOO bad.. the offset is okay too.. but thats on a Z33. I imagine with 5-lug you can make it happen.

Not bad...but looks like the rear could use another 5mm out or so....

So throw in a freaking spacer. I know that the RS Limited have a 40 mm offset. That isn't that bad for cheap, decent quality wheels.
