do any one know if a 96 300zx LSd will fit into a 89 240sx

you could have done a search. It will fit. You need the axles though. they are a 5 bolt flange, unlike the 240s 6 bolt flange. Your other otpion is to switch the output flanges from your 240 diff into the Z32 one. I don't know how much work that is. Also, the N/A Z32 has the same ratio as the 240 (4.08) but the TT has a much lower gearing of 3.86. Get the N/A.

from what I've read the 300zx axles will be too long.
The TT diff won't fit at all.
You will need to buy output flanges for a 240sx with an LSD. These are really hard to find and are like 300 bucks ordered from a dealer. Since you can get a phantom grip, which is better anyway, for 300 bucks, I don't see why everyone is snapping up used viscous units that may or may not be any good anymore.
