I admit, an 83 Mazda 626 with the electronic suspention can drift quite nice for a FF car. Coming off a ramp at overspeed, you couild hang the rear out very nice but you had to be agile to keep it from binding on the switchback...that was what the p brake was for. Looked good, felt good...was good and this was 20 years ago.

Its all about practice. Start on soil with an FF and then you can move on to better things.

Also, true drift machines in the ballet standard must be at least RWD or 4WD. Speed VS control. An FF needs a ton of front grip to pull the look "off" but with practice, it can do it...just not as pretty coming out of the curve.

been my experience that FWD doesn't transition quite as gracefully into and out of under/over steer...
tends to be more snap movements.

and doesn't this list seem to have been written by a sixteen year old who just switched from hondas?

Heh :( I still think I can drive fwd faster than rwd. I don't like it better, but I think I'm faster in fwd. Trailbrake until it comes around and mash the gas...about all there is to it.

My friends don't ride with me much, hehe...

I'm not a drifter at all so I guess thats why only those 2 are like me.

Well that and the one about hanging back a bit to get a good run around a fun turn.

it's harder to get it to oversteer gracefully... partially because one of the more "fun" ways to do it is snap- oversteer... but it's possible to do. but... even when it feels like you get it down just right and think it's smooth on the inside... people tell you that it looks whacked from the spectator's view

Missed out a few:

...your shift knob closely resemble a popsikle.
...you have a baseball bat in your garage.
...you have wheel spacers all over your trunk making clanking noises.
...you have a pineapple hanging from your rearview mirror (or cellphone).
...you keep on buying parts from the dealer but for a different car than yours.
...your favorite drink is calpis.
...when your bumpers are held by 1 screw and 5 zipties (or no screws at all).

okay, that's all I can think of right now...
