Hey guys I'm new to the forum and 240s as well, just got mine about 2 weeks ago. Need to get it smogged but the Check Engine light was on, OBD scanner reads p1447. Anyone have suggestions to fixing it?
I also would not mind taking it to a shop to get it fixed but I have no idea of any good shops in the Bay Area that would charge a fair price and do good work. So please any suggestions would be helpful!

does ur car have any mods? does ur car still have the egr parts? check all your vacuum lines behind the intake manifold. they usually start cracking due to old age.

There's a vacuum hose that is connected underneath your EGR diaphragm, and goes to the BPT valve. Check it see if it's cracked, that's usually the issue.
I don't suggest to take it to a shop to fix an EGR issue, as they'll probably charge you WAY too much for something so simple.
Just look around the EGR for rotted vacuum lines, make sure the gaskets on the EGR are good...squeeze the diaphragm and see if the engine stumbles, etc..
Would also help to take it off and clean it.
Cali smog is harsh man, get it running perfect, and then take it in, or you're gonna end up wasting a lot of money trying to smog it.
