Whats good zilvia!! I made these videos about a month or two ago.Im not sure if its the vtc gear or rod knock.I'm about 85% sure its vtc,i checked the oil on dipstick i didn't see any significant signs of metal shavings.I took a wooden broom up to the valve cover and i heard the rattle where the vtc goes, then i put it on the bottom end where the pulleys are and heard a normal humming sound.I bought greddy adjustable cam gears hoping this will fix the problem.I really hope it is the vtc because i just put money down on tomei cams and valve springs and bc retainers.I live in ny so the weather is bad and theres still snow on the ground .Hopefully the weather will be good in the next two to three weeks because im going to just swap out the vtc gear just to make sure!!!! aight here are video links please dont talk shit about the way it looks hah YouTube - SDC10375 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2jl0aPZj60&feature=related)

Could also be the flywheel if you built the motor yourself...I didn't tighten mine enough once and it made the same sound.

Hah could be but the motor ran fine for a while then i messed with the timing, and its common for the vtc to go bad in these motors how could i eliminate if its the flywheel??

To eliminate flywheel from possibilties, hold the clutch in, it won't make the sound. If it still makes the sound it's most likely not your issue...
Hopefully it's something easy like the VTC.

I dont think it's rod knock, bc the sound isnt sequential with your revs.

Guys i think it is the flywheel,i started the car and held the clutch in and from what i can tell the noise went away, granted i did it by myself and i was in the car,but i drastically noticed a difference when i had the clutch in.

Why not pull the valve cover and look at everything?

Hey. That 350 dollars...
It was fucking worth it, just to know you don't need to buy a new engine right?
