Paint stripper on aero?

Prepping my car for paint.
I don't even want to know how many layers of shit paint there are on my aero and I do not have the patience to sand it all away.
Will mess up the fiberglass in any sort?
I know they have special stripper for fiberglass......so just use that right?
Or if anyone knows any quick ways to get it all off please let me know haha.

As long as it is fiberglass specific, you shouldn't have too many issues, but I would test it in a small area before you just lay it on there. The Corvette forums also said stuff about sanding or heating it up and using a razorblade, but I know you weren't wanting to do that. I'll attach a link with some discussion on it...

get yourself a soda blaster. no sense in risking it with chemicals

all you need to do is scuff the paint till its alll even texture, no need to go back down to bare fiberglass

They have spray cans of paint stripper, its really fucking weak compared to the gel kind so just use that if you want. I would have it blasted though, that's the best option.

think about it, when you see people paint cars not like they dip them in paint remover and get it down to bare metal, they just sand and paint.

i think theres a company that sells paint stripper just for fiberglass forgot wats it called
i used it on a couple of fiberglass bumpers works good you just have to wipe it off fast before it goes in gelcoat

if its legit paint just scuff off the clear with a fine scothbrite then wax and grease remover cleaner then paint away..

Yes, I would highly recommend taking the time to sand it down, then primer/sealer, then spray away. Paint is one of those things where attention to detail and patience pays huge dividends for the quality.

spray that shit with aircraft paint remover. it will take off all the fucking paint!

spray on degreaser just to remove any oil or what-not off.

sand that bitch till its perfect and prime it.

sand with water till smooth, then paint it! DONE

it doesnt matter anyway, if you sand it down, and prime it, it will stick. even if you rattle canned it, just sand it smooth, and prime it. really not rocket science, you could spend 3 mins on a automotive painting forum and know 90% of how to paint a car.
