ASP Pulley Groupbuy

Hey everyone
With enough participation, Chris Ngo from www.speedalliance.com can hook us up with a groupbuy on ASP underdrive pulley. The MSRP for the pulley is $120 but we can get it for $100+ $7 shipping in US through the groupbuy.

This pulley upgrade retains the stock a/c belt so your a/c isn't underdriven. Possibly the *best* bang/buck hp mod for your 240!!

I have the Unorthodox pulley, and haven't had any problems with it.  I installed it in June or July of last year, can't remember.  But the install wasn't hard at all, just make sure you go out and buy the correct belts B4 you jack the car up and take anything off.  They should include a sheet with the correct belt #'s.

I could feel the pull in every gear, the most noticeably thing that you could see was your tach, mine seemed to jump to life a little more, it seemed to rev a little more freely.

i was told the pulley don't give you hp, it just makes you accelrate faster 'cause things are lighter. &nbsp;it helps put more hp to the wheel, at a earlier RPM, but it dosn't give you HP gain @ the carnk. &nbsp;but heck, i'd love a pully. i'm thinking....

not hard at all...just make sure you have a harmonic balancer puller. &nbsp;And a big wrench...and strong legs!

Your biggest concern would be the alternator. &nbsp;But it is not slowed down at all.

Only your other accessories are slowed down. &nbsp;No drawbacks...just freeing up HP.

i am running a 5 channel Alpine amp...with a 12&quot; sub.

Is that considered audio?
If yes, then I have 0 problems.

Actually, i'll be running 3 amps... 2 x 280RMS and 1 320RMS...

Component sets, midbass drivers and 12&quot; XTR Orion sub...

Will power output from the alternator be sufficient?

Halo - read my second post. &nbsp;The alternator is not slowed at all.

Therefore you get the same voltage...if not more being output by the alternator.

So the pulley keeps your ac compressor and the alternator the same? &nbsp;That only leaves the power steering pump to drive slower correct?

i believe that is correct for the SOHC.

Well, I already chucked the AC and the power steering pump spins quite freely, how much hp is this supposed to free up on the SOHC?

Not true. &nbsp;Alternator belt size is not affected!

BTW...belts are NOT included. &nbsp;My distributor has discontinued it's line of Gates belts. &nbsp;Sorry!

Why would you need a new alternator belt then if the pulley only underdrives the PS and waterpump?
