I heard there is a way to kick this out of the mix by blocking it out by putting sheet metal over it and adjusting the idle from the body! Can someone please share some insight on this subject please?

Imo as a rb20 owner is that everything is there for a reason so I'd leave it in. If yours is messed up then replace it.
