I bought the car in august from a friend of mine Sheldon, who purchased it from a friend of his who couldn't finish the build. basically a big birthday present to myself. originally from what i was told the car was an 89 240sx bone stock, then a full s13 front clip was purchased and put on by a guy named natedog, he also put in a full cage.

fast forward alittle bit i guess the owner before the guy i bought it off of had the whole car painted an awesome blue (i named it that because i forget the actual color) and had plans to do a vq motor swap in it. well i guess some things came up and he had to get rid of the rolling chassis.

already has full cage, 5 lug swap, red top sr20det, circuitsports fmic, Tial bov, custom 3' straight pipe turbo back, nrg carbon racing seats, ebay harnesses and a set of gold with chrome lipped XXR 962's 17x9 in the rear and 17x7 up front

so after buying it from him after he decided he didn't want it and wanted to move on to better things. i decided to upgrade alittle bit. i wanted a low key 400hp setup that was reliable.


a good friend of mine Tyler mentioned a site for good inexpensive parts for the sr.. after seeing all the stuff he got from them for his sr'd s14 i decided to give them a shot.

here is where ive come to a turning point in my build. ive managed to come across a top mount setup my buddy got out of a rediculous deal he managed with some kid. picked up a whole sr swap for $300. the head was alittle banged up and the trans bolt holes were stripped but still

lucky fcuk.. but it does sorta benifit me.. in that deal he got a top mount ISIS manifold and a pretty big Borg Warner GM-8 turbo and the downpipe that goes along with it. all i would need is the turbo lines:wackit:

and here is where i am currently at right now. last night i finally got down to the garage to work on the car alittle bit.

Started by throwin it up on stands and takin the wheels off.. inspecting alot of stuff etc

then i got to pulling the IC pipes and intake off so i could get to the turbo lines and everything easier. *im going to have my IC pipes intake pipe and valve cover powder coated white

then taking a whack at the rusted ass bolts on the stock manifold.

took a good while to get that back hardline out but boom!

well i wanted to see what i was dealing with looks and setup wise with the top mount kit i have. i like the way it sits so far.. so that is why im selling my ISIS bottom mount kit.

i think i remember seeing this at the sonic meet in morgantown, pa a couple years ago...car looked real clean from what i remember. i was rocking my rhd S13 coupe then hah good luck on the build man...you need any parts, let me know........i have tons.

the longer i have these wheels the more they grow on me. i just with i had a 3' lip upfront aswell. but i like the look they give my car. it doesnt look like every other brotato's car tuckin 18x9.5's the 17x9 in the rear is good enough for me

as far as aero... first i need to deal with the gearing/trans to be able to go fast enough to where aero would be benificial, 115 mph in 5th gear screaming at like 5k no bueno (im partially joking) but no i haven't thought about it at all yet.

well the way i see it after my WRX build where i sunk 17k into for topshelf parts to get to 350/350 then seeing other people top it with unusual brands.. i just figured why not, why spend all that money for perrin or hks or greddy etc when ppl were making well over 400whp using a holset on a 2.0 motor.

when you say grey i assume your referring to ISIS- they make decent parts for a price you cant really argue with.

and crower is my personal choice. i did alot of research and decided 280's for my wrx after seeing power gains, flow charts, quality.. so cams for the sr was a no brainer for me

will do man, i just got done surfing your threads a bit. im sorry to hear? i guess lol everyone is ok which is all that matters, but your house and parts are schmegma on the ground.. that sucks, atleast you can start over and have fun replacing them (jukebox in the bathroom) ;)

You will have go cruising with me since we both have RHD cars, gotta stick together!

yea i think you might be right. im also looking into upgrading and swapping out a couple parts around the front knuckles

First please get a gtr grill and brick headlights, it will do wonders for the car. The car is super clean but in order for a sil80 to work you need some type of aero to square it off front to back. Back is more round than the front.

Why are you only revving to 6,800? with that turbo you need to go higher. Also what is your goal? Just fun on the street or what? Also what duration and lift cams are you talking about.

I will say this. BC cam's (unless you meant Crower) are sketchy. They are wierd and hard to get to work right. Stay away from the 272's especially if you are serious about revving below 7k. I've had 2 sets of BC cams for the SR and I wouldn't buy them again. Customer service is like pulling hair out of your nose with welding gloves on.

I would recommend HKS 264's. If you want something mild look into Jim Wolf stuff. Talk to Coday Ace. Matter of fact go to the Sloppy Mechanics dyno meet coming up and talk to him.

Also talk to Steve at Rom is Burning (Smelly240). He does live ROM tunes.

Both those guys are local to you. Good luck.

a GTR grill, and brick headlights you say.. ill look into them see how i feel. and what all do you mean by more aero? lip, skirts etc? i absolutely love the car the way it sits right now. clean and simple but not trying to hard.

i did talk to cody ace alittle bit over on tristate about it. he told me to look into JWT S4's id like to not get too in over my head (with my head lulz) anyway.. so im thinking a mild cam and port job and be done with it. and yes i did mean crower not bc. kinda complete troll BC is not the same as brian crower like i had assumed but really similar names. ill be at the sloppy dyno day, im hoping ill have this thing done and broken in before it. and as far as goals-wise id like to get reliable 350-400 but streetable and not at some crazy psi. if thats at all possible. im only going to be running 1.1 bar max (15.something psi) so whatever it makes with that im just gonna stick with. then eventually save up for a twin scroll setup.

the only reason i had mentioned 6,800 is because thats what the guy had it set at when he used it for drift events before i got it off of him.

lol i sat here for a minute and imagined trying to pick my nose with welding gloves. i got a good chuckle outta it. thanks for the heads up with them though. i really dont have the patience to deal with stuff like that. im not a fan of sitting on the phone with someone discussing my problems. thats why god made women.

well anarchy performance is ordering me $1800 in parts

changed my mind and just deciding to take a buddy of mines advice and just rebuild the motor. im not trying to have it turn into a year long project right now. send it out get it cleaned. new bearings, seals, rings etc and just run what i have.. it should be good enough for 325ish (im hoping) and just save up to build it fully later.

Shocking isn't it? His intercooler alone is probrobly worth more than your entire car. If you have been in this community long enough you would know about nopho4u including that his account is not his first. But look at your age/location/join date of coarse you aren't going to know. Keep dreaming about that lsx swap you will never have.

pulled the motor/head. the head looked like complete a$$ so im glad im sending it out to be cleaned and redone. same goes for the block.

Paying all that extra cash for the high end stuff is fine if that's what you wanna do. But Ive never ubderstood why those kids are always hating on everyone else who doesn't dump thousands into an intercooler or other parts.

yea thanks. i never understood the need to gloat. sweet you paid $1000 for that front mount... nails a groundhog:Owned: lol i been there paying top dollar for my wrx parts. i paid $2,000 to turboxs for a utec and a fmic kit when they came out (terrible) or $4,000 for ppg gears..its a hard one to swallow... ive done it, there isnt a need to rape yourself on every car you own.

well head gaskets replaced, arp studs are in. turned out my head was pretty gnarly and i didnt have the funds for a new or used head. so i decided to put off the big top mount setup until i address the scarred cams and journals etc. i decided to just get an new isis oem replacement turbo for now till i save up to finish it. i drop in the new spec clutch, isis intake mani, wired in the new injector clips and will run 770cc sti side feeds and see what this setup gets me for the time being.

all thats left to address is stock fuel rail which i have to get a new one since i banged mine up pretty good just tryin to get the injectors out, driveshaft loop/mount, some wiring, the fmic and put the front end back on
