Alright so im finishing up getting everything for my rb25 swap. The machine shops installing new guides and seals right now.

Ive got a block that i havent taken apart. I turned the flywheel and turns pretty smoothly and the cylinder walls look pretty clean.

So I think i want to put in a set of OEM piston rings and some ACL main bearings, just for piece of mind.

Does this require balancing by the machine shop if i do this? If it does im probobly not gonna do it and just assemble it as is. Also I am just running an sr20 t28 turbo at stock boost.

I am wondering if just new rings and bearings would require the balancing procedure.

Shouldnt, but I would have a machine shop polish the crank.

Ask the Machine shop they are the pro's and will know better

Alright cool, just dont want to spend $ on the machine shop because this is a bare minimum rebuild until i can afford forged.

If everything looks good I wouldn't take it apart to do those minor things if you are looking to go forged later. Especially only running a T28 on low boost.

Yea true i guess im just gonna take out the pistons and make sure they are fine and leave them alone. Probobly just do the main bearings so itll be fresh.
